Having the ball in your forward half doesn't necessarily make for the most efficient ball movement going forward. Given the number of players that follow the ball in modern football you end up having lots of bad inside 50's and a lot of slow ball movement. We need more agility and creativity at the ball drop to generate the space we need to make us more potent.
If we can't improve our ball use going inside 50 then McGovern should seriously be considered as a forward, he's potentially in the absolute elite when it comes contest marking.
I also hope Lycett and Naitanui can offer us more than Naitanui and Cox did over the last two years.

a) Signs were good towards end of the year. Midfield structures were creating more opportunities for clean marks in the forward 50 I think.
b) Don't disagree about McGovern BUT the one argument I see for him as a back instead of a forward is that he is - I think - a creative kick. Can break lines through clever kicking from HB/FB in a way he can't do when kicking for goal.
