Aha, that's going to be an interesting one for me in a few years. I'm a South Sydney supporter in the NRL (I actually missed the first third of the WC-NM match because I was watching the Bunnies put Wests to the uttermost sword in the conflicting match) but with a West Australian team expected to be on the way, I'll be having to settle that conflict myself.

Who knows, in five years time, I may be in your shoes :p

My experiences of being in a really distinct minority at an away game is limited to derbies and that hasn't been so bad, even in an losing effort, so its hard to speak from a position of understanding.

It is interesting how few opportunities we have of being in that situation - even in games in Melbourne we have a larger support base there than most clubs have in Perth, so you'll still usually have safety in numbers. Probably the most relevant experience I've had was going to a Melbourne Heart game as a Perth Glory supporter, but they're not exactly the fiercest supporters in the A-League.

The Kick a Vic days of the true State of Origin were the worst - it was like the Colosseum or something! and those Vic teams were so ****ing good!!!

I don't have problem with it, but it would be pretty crap I reckon. Only getting to see your team once, maybe twice a season. Not having mates to talk about your team with. Not getting half the sport section of the newspaper dedicated to your team. That said, if I had to move to Melbourne for work or something, I'd still barrack for West Coast.
Pity I'm not mates with your mates, because all my mates hate the Eagles.

At least that's unlikely this season, amirite?!

It depends if West Coast make the 8.

What evidence have you gathered over the last three years of us playing you that would lead to that conclusion? We get to hear it every time.

Us outplaying your team on Friday is a bit evidence. Sure you won, but come September, we will be much better and your veterans will be older and by then we would of worked a proper ploy to stop A Selwood's cheating.

Been meaning to ask this since I saw the dozens of Brad Scott avatars last week. How would you guys feel if Brad was the next coach of West Coast ?

Watching Hawthorn dominate throughout the 80s taught me that even when playing badly, good sides still find a way to win. Conversely, middle of the road teams can often find a way to lose. During Friday's game, as negative as I was getting during the last quarter, I was mindful of the fact that North have proven themselves this season masters of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

You can blame the umps if you like. You might even accuse some of our players of cheating, although that's a hollow insult coming from a North supporter. If there was any umpire bias in those last couple of minutes, it stemmed only from their consistency, in that they decided to award a couple of free kicks to use, when earlier in the night they were blatantly ignoring a lot of our genuine frees.

I don't think the Umpires cost us the game. I think we choked and stuffed it up in the end and its no coincidence that we've lost 3 games by such small margins. That clearly needs to be worked on. I just think some of your players especially Selwood go down too easily.

How do you feel about Lindsays ducking and diving?

There's more than a few West Coast who don't like it either. At least we've managed to get that Hams hack out of the side.

This is probably the most appropriate thread. Thompson got a reprimand for his cheap shot on Rosa.
Scott Thompson, North Melbourne,
has been charged with a level one striking offence (80 demerit points) for striking Matt Rosa, West Coast, during the second quarter of the Round Eight match between North Melbourne and West Coast, played at Patersons Stadium on Friday May 17, 2013.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 60 demerit points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from West Coast, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing 80 demerit points and a reprimand. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record.

Both the Scott brothers have their qualities and their flaws, and I would regard both coaches as in the upper half of the current crop of coaches. However, I do prefer Chris to his brother. But going from a club legend to Brad Scott would not go over that well. Culturally not a great fit, I wouldn't think.

I'm sure you "would of".

So, you expect;
- to play just as good next time
- us to continue to not play well
- us to continue to kick poorly
- us to get at least 2 significant injuries throughout the game
- the umpires to not pay head high free kicks

Then, you will win? If we play again, I guarantee you we will kick more goals than we did on Friday...

Deluded much?

We outplayed you. If we kicked straight you would have lost by at least 5 goals.
