My info tells me nobody likes him at Ess and that is why he is retained. Can shout at many, not put noses out of joint, and nobody cares if nobody listens to him as long as it is seen he is shouting to achieve something.Unsure what but that is Ess

It was not my opinion but told to me by an Essendon official last year when they were in Perth. With a new coach who does not want anybody around him that deserves the gig more, I can understand the logic especially following the likes of Sheedy that commanded respect.
It is not ridiculous if you think about it but very smart by Ess and Knights.

I just don't think Knights is the sort of person who would be so insecure as to hire dolts who add no value other than to make himself look good, instead of people who are, you know, good for the job...
Also, I'm not sure exactly what "Essendon official" would be saying such a thing; but hey, I wouldn't dream of calling you a liar, and certainly not on your own board
In any case; it hasn't, and certainly didn't on Saturday night, look like anyone really hates Camporeale too much at Essendon. I still don't understand why they would, really

Going O/T, but still on the coaching staff theme, I'm rapt Carlton has Brett Montgomery at Visy Park as an assistant coach, ditto Robert Harvey (that goes without saying)
I feel though that Essendon missed out on a golden oppotunity by not hiring Monty, he would have worked really well with Ramanaskaus in the assistant coach/development area

Sumich up until recently was a midfield coach at WC. Somewhere in the AFL common sense took a holiday so it seems.
Perhaps the Ess official was giving an opinion instead of a club decision but I thought it strange as well and yet once I thought about it it did seem to make sense.
Having been to Ess functions even last year it is not that they seem to hate Campo but really do not realise or acknowledge he is actually there.
Perhaps this year he has had more of an influence and hence why he is now thrust in front of the media.
