I agree, I think there is more to this than just going out on the juice on a Sunday night. What I mean is there must have be something going on leading up to him saying yeah well **** you i'm going for a drink.
I would ******* love it if he had a go at his team and the coaches after Saturdays debacle.
thats probably true. But another scenario could be that he had mates who are crows fans came over for the game and he went for a few beers with them.

Yeah maybe being a country SA boy and all. No reports of any of the Crows players getting on the juice with him? If there was then I can kinda understand ditching work to hang with your mates.

He hasn't earned the right to get stuck into all the other players.

Not really acceptable if it was an important meeting, which in the context of the season it was.

He was probably regretting his decision to sign a 4-year contract with this inept midfield at his feet instead of going back to play for Adelaide.

Anyway, the team without he and Naita will have to pull their collective finger out to put in a decent performance against the Brions. We won't lose, but gee they'd want it to be a sizable win.

Rules and standards are ok to have, unless it's not convenient to enforce them?

Don't think that's the message we should be sending the playing group.

And Lycett isn't going to be the difference between winning and losing in Brisbane. If he'd gone out on the turps ahead of the North game there might be an issue.
AKA the Hodgey Good Bloke exemption

"It is understood Lycett's indiscretion was not major, but he went against minimum team standards by having a very late night out"

No wonder the players are not really playing for eachother. Can't even go out after a game. Probably all of them are depressed as ****

I think demotion is enough of an ego blow, given the indiscretion seems minor. I reckon most players would rather have the week off than ply their trade in front of 1000 people. Plus, it doesn't punish the other players by leaving him less prepared for next week.

That's ok but if the indiscretion is so minor then keep it in house and play him where we need him this week.
He should still be pretty excited that a couple of thousand people would watch him ply his trade.

They can go out just not to the early hours of the morning I'm guessing. It was mentioned he missed a meeting so he must have stayed out quite late.

He was probably sick of going to meetings to hear the coach say " ok, so we need to mix things up in the middle, so we're gonna play Priddis in the middle 90% of the game again, but we'll get him to handball to guys under pressure with his left hand instead of his right"... :D

I feel like the club is micro managing the players too much these days. As long as not taking drugs who cares what they do in 2 days following game as long as they do the recovery session
Expecting their attendance at compulsory meetings is hardly micromanaging. If he had made the meeting, it probably wouldn't have been an issue.

He missed the recovery session ......err that's not good especially when you're a travelling side

I think he will have leaned valuable lessons from it .....better to learn now than before a really big game

Remember the days we let Ben cousins get away with things because he was a star .....well it didn't do him any good did it?

Good response from Scott

I'd expect him straight into the team v Essendon (Leuenberger) as #1 ruck.

Yup .....I think players can learn from it ....a kick in the arse early in your career isn't a bad thing

Like I said Ben cousins and Kerr were allowed to get away with blue murder ......

Does Giles play as back up to Lycett .....I think he does ...he wasn't embarrassing ....
