Someone asked how many votes Bishop received. 11 apparently and 1 from WA - guess who?

I’m no political analyst, but Julie Bishop is probably the most respected nationally of the WA Libs, but Matthias “ Teflon “ Corman is allowed to undermine her.

Matthias organised the WA Libs state parliament campaign, last year. He stuffed up badly, bargaining a deal with One Nation, that exploded in the Libs face. As such the WA liberal party is in the gutter at present.

Back to the federal scene, Matthias is a senator for a state, but gives b... all thought to his constituents.

Why in human nature, is Matthias being dusted off for a cabinet post, but Julie is obviously being shown the “red card” ?. From my view on the grassy knoll, Matthias is a liability and a snivelling whiteanter.

Why should the PM bring Abbott into his team, if he refuses to play by team rules ?.

Fix up your team skills in the 2nd’s, then return to the seniors when you have learnt your lesson.
I am not the one saying it, nor do I agree with the tweet.

Jesus would be handy on a HFF
"What would you do if Jesus Christ came to Hawthorn today?"

"Move Peter Hudson to centre half forward."

The Hillsong mob certainly are, as are most Pentecostals and fundie born-agains (in my experience anyway). I don't know what his personal views are on the subject.
Doubt he will spell them out, even Hastie has a well scripted response to avoid answering it and we are certain he is

The Treasurer is usually the most high profile role in the government after the Prime Minister, and Scott Morrison was probably the lowest profile Treasurer since Wayne Swan - arguably his profile was much lower because he hadn't had to deal with anything difficult.

His role as minister for immigration was higher profile, but his effectiveness in that role was quickly surpassed by Dutton (Dutton makes for a better undertaker).

So what confidence could you have that Morrison will make a better and more popular PM than Turnbull (or even Abbott)?

Interesting Melissa Price touted as Minister for the Environment (she was Assistance Minister for the Environment previously), which I wasn't even aware of but looking at her bio, she seems well suited to the position.

Prior to entering Parliament, Price was Vice President of Legal and Business Development for Crosslands Resources, an entity of Mitsubishi Developments which control the major Western Australian Jack Hills Iron Ore Mine.

Hmm, mining background, should please a few in the party.:)

Rupert and his rags, still don't get it.

Howard's judgement RE Abbott has consistently been appalling.

In his autobiography, he waxes lyrical about Abbott, praising him for being 'direct' (which he isn't usually; he's too incoherent) and 'authentic' (LOL). That despite his generally questionable Ministerial performances.

So are Dutton and his mates content with this outcome, or will there be more trouble in store for our glorious new PM?
If the polls are still shit through to Christmas they'll be on the march again. Morrison will have to make some compromises here and there on policy which will be insufficiently conservative in their eyes.

It seems unbelievable now, but that was the criticism of Abbott before he was punted.

Morrison describes himself as standing for traditional family values and yet is a member of the party which, through its labour "deregulation" policies, has done more than anyone in Australia's history to break up the traditional family unit.

Anyone on less than an upper-middle class salary these days has been left entirely at the beck and call of their employer, struggling to maintain any semblance of a normal family life.

If the Liberals reversed SSM they may as well set themselves on fire. It's not going to happen.
It's the response to the Ruddock report on "religious freedoms" that will be the single focus of this government between now and the election.
