Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Actually he would have to move a long way left to have a chance, and the rwnj's wont him do thatLOL true and its not impossible for Morrison to be returned but he will need a lot to go right for him between now and election day.
That would require him to ignore the voices in his headDo you mean from all the hard-right types who are forever claiming that the only way is to be anti-lefty/anti-immigrant?
Their takeover didn't happen. The Govt is much the same as it New Postswas under Turnbull. But with less Bishop and Turnbull, and probably far less 'consensus government' stuff since that is what made Turnbull a fizzer. Ignoring the hard-right is ScoMo's only hope.
She seems at least competent. The field is very smallI like Payne for FM

That's a lot better than I expected it to be.Newspoll 56-44
Image how bad it would have been with Dutton.
Depends on how he handles Dutton/Abbott & Co.And to think that's the Honeymoon poll... as good as it gets for ScoMo?

Morrison and Shorten are both devoid of charisma, though that's no to necessarily a bad thing. We're not a presidential democracy.I actually would not be massively surprised if ScoMo managed to win. Politics is more personality driven than ever, so dumping Turnbull hits a bit of a reset button for the Libs with a sizeable portion of people, and Shorten is pretty invisible when it comes to charisma by most standards.

I don't think lacking in charisma hurts the PM that much though, as they're thrust into the spotlight by default and as long as they're not actively toxic like Abbott I think that puts them ahead of an opposition leader who isn't conventionally 'inspiring'.Morrison and Shirten are both devoid of charisma, though that's no to necessarily a bad thing. Remove libs and labour, our politicians are pathetic
Unfortunately I have to vote until I can get a green card in another country but neither will get my support from now on
The white anting will continue as long as Abbott, Dutton, Andrews, etc are in the Parliament. He'll last as long as the next election and then lose his head when the coalition is crushed.
There's already talk of Dutton remaining in the cabinet while Bishop will be shuffled to the back bench, it's just baffling.
Both Turnbull and Bishop effectively shrugging their shoulders and retiring says a fair bit about the drain that the party is headed down I think.
They’ll effectively be One Nation in 20 months time. That’ll be the legacy of Abbott.
A big difference between the US and here is we have compulsory voting. The Trussian propaganda worked to convince Republicans to vote for someone inept, and worked to keep a bunch of people who were horrified by Trump home by confusing them about Hillary. In Aus, you get fined if you don't rock up, so that tactic doesn't work.I don't think lacking in charisma hurts the PM that much though, as they're thrust into the spotlight by default and as long as they're not actively toxic like Abbott I think that puts them ahead of an opposition leader who isn't conventionally 'inspiring'.
We saw how the "They go low, we go high", not interrupting your opponent when they're making a mistake, approach worked for Hillary in the US, and while you're right that we aren't a presidential democracy so it shouldn't theoretically matter as much, the amount of people who have been lamenting that the candidate they 'voted for' got knifed after Rudd, Gillard, Abbott and now Turnbull would suggest that the average Australian voter doesn't really see the difference.
I think Morrison has been pretty unlikeable in government, but he'll likely carry himself differently as PM which, if he wrangles the far right faction well enough to reassure the electorate, could be enough for the public to give him a chance for a term (if that does happen I assume he'll get white-anted and knifed just like Turnbull).

You have to go and get your name crossed off. What you do after that is up to you.
