I got a $165 parking fine the other day for pulling over so my daughter could get in the car. I received it in the mail 2 weeks later - apparently parking officers take photos from their cars now.

Let’s not forget the flawed voting system that ensures the Nationals get seven times as many seats in the House of Representatives as the Greens, despite getting less than half as many votes.

When I read about these people and how they carry on I realise I'm not even surprised what a bunch of conniving, power hungry sociopaths they are but it does make me wonder about better ways we could elect people. Even if everyone above a certain IQ went into a ballot and got picked at random I reckon we'd get better representation that what we have now.

It should be like the old wisdom says- anyone that wants the job should be automatically disqualified from holding it.

Its becoming increasingly obvious that many govts have completely overreacted to this.

Its also clear that the correlation between lockdown and deaths is nowhere near as rigid as these govts would have you believe.

Interestly indonesia - who have little to no capacity for testing compared to their population, have logistical and structural problems that make lockdown just a phrase as its all but impossible - and their death rate from covid is unknown.

what is known is that their death rate compared to the same month last year is 40% higher already and we are halfway through the month.

What is flawed about that, it ensures representation for the regions by people of their choosing. Having different systems in the senate and house of reps helps ensure balance.

And what exactly were the likes of Trump, BoJo and ScoMo doing on March 1? Telling people to shake hands (in BoJo’s case, shaking hands with actual coronavirus victims, the gormless wonder).

The WHO is far from perfect but they can’t be held to account for countries ignoring them. I’d also suggest that you don’t have the faintest clue what its many actual experts on the ground have been up to. Just repeating Trump’s sound bites and playing politics as always.
