Manufacturer of vaccine that doesn't exist, says there is no agreement with Scomo

Narcissist much

It is the Australian Government you muppet.

I bet we don't see this on the front cover of the Aged Care report. And full marks to the marketing genius who came up with "Aged Care" so they didn't need "nurses" in nursing homes anymore.

We live in a backward cesspool of a country.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has claimed there was an "overreaction" to his suggestion the COVID-19 vaccine would be as "mandatory as possible".

Mr Morrison revealed today a COVID-19 vaccine could be rolled out to Australians as early as next year, provided it is safe to use.

Speaking to 3AW's Neil Mitchell this morning, Mr Morrison was asked if the vaccine would be mandatory, with the PM saying it needed to be administered to about 95 per cent of the population to be effective.

“I would expect it to be as mandatory as you can possibly make it,” he said.

“There are always exemptions for any vaccine on medical grounds but that should be the only basis."

But now Mr Morrison has explained on 2GB that the vaccination won't be compulsory, though it will be "encouraged".

"There's been a bit of an over-reaction to any suggestion of this, there will be no compulsory vaccine," he said.

"What we want to achieve is as much vaccination as we possibly can."

What?

80% of deaths everywhere were in the aged care sector. Its almost entirely old people who die.

Every state other than Victoria fixed their issues.
How do you fix casulaised work forces going from one profit driven federally accredited nursing home to another and not having sick leave to stay home if they have the sniffles?

I would love to know what percentage of the casualised workforce has said “yeah nah, I’ll be back when this is over”.

Seriously, why would anyone put themselves at the front line when they are not properly trained or supported for $20 an hour or whatever it is.

There are numerous reports of security staff saying this setup is a joke - I’m not coming back.

How much of this is going on in aged care?

Casual goes both ways - ie. screw you boss, call me when this s**t is over.

Everyone I know who works in aged care gets sick leave.

Contractors/Casuals also get paid at a higher rate which compensates them for not getting all leave entitlements. The bigger problem is it seems like many just dont care. In the early days there were cases of nurses knowingly ignoring directions to stay at home.

But that has been a huge problem more broadly too. Selfish people not caring about the risks they are putting on others because they have not been suffering from severe symptoms.

But there have been two previously deadly outbreaks in NSW privatised aged care, also managed by the federal government?

Yet Victorian state run facilities have been fine.

So, if aged care under federal control has had disasters in two states, but the Victorian run care in the state with the largest outbreak has been relatively well managed, it suggests the problem is a federal one.

Seems like Scotty was warned about the workforce issues with federally regulated aged care months ago, which have increased spread and now led to chronic understaffing/Victorian state rescue.

Probably more to do with the fact that there is * all state run aged care homes in Metropolitan Melbourne!

DRUG COMPANY CONTRADICTS MORRISON
Drug company AstraZeneca has denied Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s claim that he has reached a deal to secure 25 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Oxford University.

The Pharmaceutical company’s UK headquarters told pharmaceutical industry newsletter Pharma in Focus all the government has is a letter of intent.

“The LOI doesn’t go into any detail about costs or numbers or anything until we have an idea of what the manufacturing capacity is – that’s a critical piece in the puzzle,” a spokesperson said.

Mr Morrison has also claimed CSL will manufacture the vaccine in Australia, but AstraZeneca says as of now there is no such deal.

NSW state run facilities were also fine. The reason is because state run facilities are out in the regions. The feds took over the central. large facilities where most sick people were congregating.

Which highlights the fundamental problem.

The private sector only wants to cherry pick the most profitable homes and as soon as that profit is threatened the private sector crumbles.

Its a fundamental problem quite literally everywhere across all sectors. Low population regions cost huge amounts to service and only governments willing to make a loss would bother with them.

Are you suggesting private companies should sign up to make losses?

Or is this more a communist thing and we shouldnt have private companies?

Maybe aged care should never have been for profit
Just like child care

This pandemic is forcing neo libs to stop pretending and finally admit that not all lives matter to them and that a certain mortality rate is acceptable if it means everyone can continue to make money.
I don’t even think they’ve ever hidden their attitude.
