Scott Morrison - How Long? Part 3

Morrison is indeed in a better spot than he should be; their economic management has been poor and we were headed for our first recession in 30 years under these so-called ‘better economic managers’. Now he gets to blame their incompetence on COVID.

He’s also got a pretty compliant media just burying every Robodebt, sports rorts etc that comes along.

But he’s also got longer to wait for an election than he would like, he’ll be in charge when the recovery gets tough, attention spans are short. He’s a long way from home.
Getting in early with the pre-emptive excuses in case Labor blow it again in the next election ;)

Why do I get the feeling James gets most of his news watching sky after dark and sources like Breitbart?

Yes, Kos Samaras is Sky after dark. 😂

I must have missed him running Daniel Andrews office for years, being the state secretary for Labor for 5 years and being married to a current federal sitting ALP MP.

The denial of reality makes the election wins sweeter than they should actually be. Keep it up I say!

Please feel free to elaborate on the good reason. The coalition's 2019 election campaign was very thin on substantive policy, apart from the "we don't like Labor's policy on issue X" approach.

Alas, being a useless politician is no impediment to winning an Australian federal election. Apart from the incumbent, Abbott is another recent example of this.

He won because of the confusion in the Opposition. Bill was selling a different message in Melbourne to NQ & the workers did not buy it & he shared the latte sippers with the Greens.

Guess you'd prefer to blame Murdoch, anything but look in the mirror.

No different to dastardly Dan, the other mob are a circus - got nothing to do with policy.

The delusion in this thread amongst Laborites is off the charts.

Morrison will be Prime Minister longer than John Howard.

I have attached some polling from Kos Samaras who has run campaigns for Labor federally and at a state level in Victoria. He was once the secretary of Labor in Victoria and is married to a current federal ALP MP.

In Lilley, an ALP seat, Labor at at 47, the Liberals are at 53.

Morrison will take seats off Labor next election. Keep up the delusion that he is under threat

Kos is a business partner of Phil Staindl who had tough appearance at IBAC.

All good mate, misunderstanding!
Bobs old man was a Congregationalist, evangelical in real terms, scam christianity.
They answer to nobody.
I have mixed feelings about Hawke, he was implicated in the Pedo report of high ranking officialdom that was kindly buried some years ago.
Someone once sent me a photo of the group named in that report, it’s frightening, he was amongst those, several other pollies, celebrities, Law enforcement, Judges etc.
I hope one day someone brave enough releases that report and the entire facade falls!

Clem was a Minister in the Congregational Church, one of the different Christian churches.
Was at the church in Subi for a time, before there was a merger with other similar minded flocks gave us the Uniting Church.

Bloody great PM, a true leader even though there was a darker side. Vote for him tomorrow.

He can go as soon as August - and if there's any trouble on the horizon he'll go early. Only needs to keep up the façade for another 9 months - and they're spending enough to keep things from going completely ****-up before then.

Maybe it was just the last election that broke me, but between a friendly media environment and an opposition that can't seem to cut through, I'm already pretty despondent about how prospects are looking.

Yes but with Albo as the alternative unfortunately lacking cut-through, it's hard to see him losing.

Keep on deluding yourselves that Morrison is in any trouble. Labor are all at sea.

The book's release comes amid debate over the party's direction under current leader Anthony Albanese and fears from some MPs its ambitious climate change promises have alienated the party's blue-collar voter base in suburban and regional Australia

Even Labor itself knows it has lost the middle (where elections are decided).

As the opposition grapples with an identity crisis after three successive federal election losses, Labor frontbencher Chris Bowen has warned his party will lose the next election if it attempts to "boil the ocean" with a complex array of promises and policies.

Labor is utterly stuffed electorally. Long may Morrison reign.

they realise lnp won without actually stating any policies, and just discredited Labor’s.

Isnt that a great outcome for the country!

“Mr Bowen says a small but ambitious agenda would be "less disconcerting" and have the advantage of being easier to explain as well as digest.”

“Such an approach also reduces the capacity for scare campaigns to sow doubt or distrust with our agenda and allows us to more readily address these head on in discrete battles rather than defending a broad front," he writes in his essay.”

In other words, the same old same old; try to win by standing for nothing.

The fact that Bowen himself is anywhere near policy direction proves how completely rudderless the ALP is. This bright spark took to an election a platform of if you don’t like our policy on dividend imputation, then don’t vote for us.

It is like letting Ned Guy handle your salary cap!

Yes, it’s great that people vote for no policies.

Gives voters more time to wonder why their wages haven’t moved & under employment is growing.

In other words, the same old same old; try to win by standing for nothing.

its sad, but its the lesson the alp has to learn

I greatly admired shorten for being open and frank about his policy plans, but it was in hindsight the wrong move

small target politics is what the electorate reward, and the alp should limit its platform to only populist policies leading into the next election

You think they should vote for policies they don't want instead?

It's hilarious how much fanboys on here let Labor off the hook for arrogantly ballsing up the last election that should have been a lock.

Bowen was awful at selling them as well, but I could probably count on one hand the amount of posts on here by Labor people criticising him for it, it's always a media conspiracy or people are 'stupid'.

no, Labor ****ed up no doubt

this thread is about the PM.
The party he leads presented no policies and focused on s**t canning Labor’s. It was effective, because they won.

But... how good is no policies or vision for the country! Can we get that into a 3 word slogan?

Labor supporters can’t reconcile the fact that middle and working class voters are shunning their party. A party that supposedly stands for the worker.

They try to blame this voter divergence on the Liberal’s having no policy.

They also blame some conspiracy just like the football supporter who blames an umpire for losing a game every week.

You cant discount the last 2
They are very true
and why you couldnt sell the policies or fight the scare campaign on multiple levels

The Libs won by a seat in the end, I'll put that down to the advantage they gained largely by Palmer and Murdoch. Despite the end of history policies spruiked by this government it was actually a tight election.

Only through the mind of a simple fanboy that obviously has zero objectivity.

The Liberals don't give a s**t about the quiet average Joe working class, Labor really need to win these people back.

That's because you are a mindless simpleton, and you probably wonder why you have never proggressed past the rank of a HTV pleb at Labor, people that everyone laughs at behind their backs.

It wasn’t a tight election.

Labor had it’s lowest primary vote in 80 years with a primary of 33 pc. Not one seat was won on UAP preferences.

Anyway, it is sad what has occured to the ALP. They were forced last year to vote for a chap who went to school at Xavier College, who is best friends with the head of the IPA & who built his career by cuddling up to Richard Pratt & Raheen. You guys are in the political wilderness.

as opposed to the minds of Murdoch apologists

How was one seat difference not tight?

Good to see that with all the issues facing Australia this government acting as Pauline Hanson's b*tch and abolishing the Family Court is given such priority.

They have lost the plot. The problem has been deemed too hard to deal with. Dump it in someone else’s lap, call any issues “teething problems” and move on. Next government gets a bigger problem, and the opposition can use it against them.
