This is not Morrison’s plan. It’s the national cabinets. Andrews is part of that.

Morrison said Dan rang him the night before and agreed to get the Labor premiers onside if certain procedures, namely reducing the number of incoming travellers and making lockdowns the last resort, were adopted. So it’s been a Labor-Lib arm wrestle so far.

Incidentally, they have been taking - I can’t remember if it was 3000 or 6000 - incoming travellers per week, yet there are still 34,000 on the waiting list to come back. It never seems to reduce. Even allowing for business people arriving.

There's an argument to be made that with a fatality rate 1/20th of the Alpha variant, perhaps the Delta variant, whilst more infectious, is little more than the flu anyway. Possibly even less.

Trying to find a reference for that, can only see some data from UK (who are much more vaccinated) which at this stage is low (0.1%) although would want to see in a couple of weeks (deaths lag disease)

I was initially pro lockdowns while waiting for a vaccine. We now have it so we vaccinate the we get things back to normal
