• created a national cabinet that has achieved nothing

• one confirmed recession and more to come
• Labour and skills shortages everywhere

The only thing I’d point out is that I think it unfair to say didn’t get boosters into old people in time. There was no clear science at the outset re booster and timing, as boosters only became key for omicron and omicron started late November. As aged care needs staff to go in to vaccinate, those staff could also be vectors to bring omicron into the nursing home.

Indeed. It would also be good if the government didn't, in the desperation of trying to deny one massive fu**-up (not ordering enough vaccines), plunge head first into the next inevitable calamity (forcing states to open up without any access to testing).

This is why the current 'populist' movements (of which I consider Morrison and his ''quiet Australians' one) are always doomed to fail, as they are not at all interesting in governing - just having power and status, meanwhile shirking all responsibility and taking credit for the work of others. Far too busy trying capitalise on whatever culture war will temporarily boost their poll numbers - leaving he actual role of governing utterly neglected, a tsunami of devastation its wake - closed borders, overwhelmed health system, f’ed economy etc.

That's why even if the situation re: the pandemic improves for Morrison before the election, there will inevitable more ticking time bombs which will be set to go off periodically/endlessly because the government is simply not doing its job.
