OK 97% of the world's climate scientists are wrong, because anonymous Joe Schmoe of the internet believes he's thought of something that they haven't.

Never mind the fact that anyone who could prove climate change is wrong, or is a con-job, would be instantly rich beyond belief, and famous for all time.

But no, according to you, all these scientists are much more concerned about maintaining their modest research funding.

What do you think people are learning when they do a science degree at university these days?
Whilst the scientists, Universities and companies supporting climate change scaremongering are making themselves very rich. i.e. Origin Energy, United Energy etc. Do you really believe that these organizations will ever allow free energy? Capitalists don't care how they make their money. They can smell suckers a mile away.

It seems to me rather than engage in a debate you are too afraid to ask the questions, in case you are labelled a denier. This is what really concerns me. No debate, shouted down by lefties who are trying to take us down another path. Then they say even if we are wrong what damage could be done if we revert to renewables? Now they are saying that eating meat is killing the environment and that if we all became vegetarians we can reduce global warming. Can you see the brainwashing that is occurring? Meanwhile Al Gore uses his private jet to travel the world, as do all of the Hollywood A Listers who lecture us about global warming but no nothing about it.

Al Gores movie an Inconvenient Truth was found to contain 9 factual errors.

I am not a scientist and don't pretend to be, however I can smell a con job, and we are being conned.
Professor Tim Flannery, the guy that said there would be no more rain in QLD, and all of this other alarmist rubbish.
He then conned Gillard into giving him a grant to set up a Geothermal project which was in Flannery's expert opinion. was a no brainer to succeed.
$80 million in tax payer money the project was shut down as a complete failure. Investors lost a lot of money. Bet you Flannery didn't.
http://catallaxyfiles.com/2014/08/08/hot-rocks-a-dud-ask-tim-flannery/
Ironically at the peak of warning us of rising sea levels, inevitable doom, Flannery bought himself a house on the Hawkesbury River. How convenient.
Finally the comment that Flannery made on Steve Price radio show on the now defunct MTR, which received very little coverage. If humans eradicated Co2 emmisions overnight, it would still take over 900 years to clear these so called dangerous emmissions from the atmosphere. Lefties never talk about that.

The precious ABC will not discuss or provide any balance in this debate, because it does not suit their agenda.

Why should my taxes go toward upgrading train stations around Geelong when I will never use them? Those that use them should pay.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-17/geelong-to-get-736-million-upgrade-to-train-services/10131214
Because Geelong is a marginal seat. When you are in a marginal seat you get everything and anything you want. People in Bentleigh never had it so good for 8 years.
Politicians throwing money like it was confetti. Now that it is a safe labor seat, guarantee you the money will dry up.
Why should I contribute to the ABC? All I get are a bunch of leftie cafe latte inner city types lecturing about their pet projects. Sell it off or relocate it to the bush, where it belongs.

Oh jeez, you think we haven't heard all this like ten years ago?

I'm not going to bother arguing the science with you. That would be a waste of time, given the way you choose to cherry-pick your information here.

I'll put it on a level you can relate to, if you really are the kind of person that "can smell a con job":

Ask yourself - who's making the big money out of climate obfuscation?

- multinational fossil fuel companies with revenue in the billions?

- or modestly-remunerated climate scientists?

This is the thing you guys never address.

Like they always say, follow the money.

I'm not ideologically blind to the existence of conspiracies.

But here's the thing - there's a fundamental difference between conspiracies, and conspiracy theories.

That's fine, you've made it clear with this statement that you don't listen to or watch the ABC, so your point can be safely discarded. Good to get that out on the table.

Private health insurance is a rort. It covered nothing for my operation other than a private room. It still ended up costing the same as public. Except private health also cost 3k a year. Got rid of it right after
How much extra do you have pay in medicare levies without insurance? I have never done the sums but that is the only reason I have it. I have so many insurances it is a joke actually.

Thought you all might like to meet some of our beloved Prime Minister's religious bedfellows.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/11/trump-administration-evangelical-influence-support

And they have the gall to accuse the left of "moral relativism".
Wow. I actually think with the kind of crazies that are running around now there needs to be psychological exams before people can be allowed into positions of power. Its not really fair or moral for the majority to be governed by a small minority of people who genuinely believe the end of the world is a good thing.
People this delusional should not be making major policy decisions about anything, let along world politics.

Yes, it's very disturbing. Psychological testing on all people in positions of life-and-death responsibility would be a sensible thing. (So it won't happen.)

The book "Fantasyland" by Kurt Andersen is very good on how America came to this.
