Just for something a bit different on our board.
Hypothetical sitatuon: At the end of the season, both of these guys approach the club with their desire to join the list. For reasons such as salary cap, list size management, and anything else I can throw in, we're only able to obtain one.
We can get whichever one we desire, both at the same price (1st Round + "Player X").
Both would be automatic Vice Captains.
Both would automatically be either our best or second best midfielder.
Both would instantly free up the likes of Stanton and/or Watson.
Both would instantly improve our contested ball, clearance, leadership, skill, and just about everything else, particularly in the midfield.
Both will be 24 years of age in 2012.
Who would you take?
Personally I'd rate Selwood's consistency and leadership above Pendlebury, but rate Pendlebury's disposal under pressure, goal kicking ability and ability to cover ground as better.
Considering we have Watson, Hocking, Lonergan and Howlett as decent inside midfielders, I'd go with Pendlebury, who can play both inside and out.
