Pendles has made more mistakes in the first 4 games this year than he has in the previous 10 years it seems.

Sad to say but father time is catching up with him.

Feel like its a result of the personnel around him. Trying to do more because we have no midfield depth what so ever

I think he's got 2-3 left on the wing as he's still our best and most creative linking player. But he's becoming a defensive liability around stoppage.

His defensive work around stoppages was never a strength. Neither was his 2-way running. Always gets back into defense but more to start the offensive transition than anything else. Doubt that any of that has changed overly much if at all this year. The difference is the opposition attention he now gets given the diminished support.

I'd be willing to bet that he's also leading our missed tackle stats as well.

The only reason he’d be on the 1st page of missed tackle stats is he’s getting way more tackle opportunity than quite a number of his teammates.

He's a hard worker, but he also tends to play a defensive role at stoppage, so he'd have the most tackling opportunities. Not really sure why he plays the defensive role though - that may be the issue.

Really? Never thought of him as a defensive mid. What makes you say that?

At stoppage, he's not often the hitting target, if we get it his job is to get into position to receive. If they get it his job is to lock them up. He's the one in the best position to defend and is not as good at locking it up anymore.

Buckley still thinks he is the prime midfielder at 33yo. It's kind of true though as he failed to develop any supporting mid in the 10 years he and Harvey were there. Adams and Treloar were already established..

Sad that Pendles had somewhat of a stunted career, success wise under Buckley the last 10 years.

You really hate Buckley don’t you?

When you are 33 and play one bad game you are finished as you are too old. That's the Bigfooty law. Nevermind he was one of our better players the 3 games before and our leading disposal getter by miles. Nope, that's it - he's stuffed.

Sounds like he could be ready for a whipping!

We can put him out on the same paddock as Good Horse.

Blokes like you have been claiming he is done for the past 6 years. If you keep going eventually you will be right
It's like those American talking heads with Tom Brady. Trying to call his decline annually since 2015, still waiting to be correct.

Pendlebury seems the ultimate professional. He will be the one to pull the pin , club shouldn't pull the plug on him just because of his age.

Fingers crossed he is injury free and passes Harveys record

Edit: just saw games difference to Harvey. Another 5 solid seasons at least. Yikes.

Don't think he'll catch Boomer, but I think 350 is a lock barring catastrophic injury. I think he could well play on for a few more years too, given how he manages himself. If he genuinely wants to play 400 I could see it happening.

He can still play well.. in the Hodge Lewis Isaac Smith mould I would consider trading him.. think there's still enough value there for us to get something decent in return.

A packet of walnuts?

We're finished.. get something for him.

I want him to play for us until he's 40.. but it's not how it works. You're selling his professionalism.. knowledge.. skills.. still has value as a good footballer.. wouldn't be worth peanuts or walnuts I'd say..
