He should be the first Collingwood player to have a statue in the “Avenue of Legends” at the MCG. One of the criteria, is having made a significant contribution to the ground itself. He’s played more games there than anyone else, plus he’s a champion. Surely that makes him eligible.
We should start a petition.

Pretty sure with that attempted tackle last week that he thought the hawthorn player disposed of the ball, so he also let go of the tackle. At least that's how I saw it.

So add poor decision making to his list of declining capabilities.

Perhaps instead the statue could be Pendles bouncing a footy off a pigeon. It would serve as both a great reminder of a one-off footy moment and as a warning to real pigeons not to crap on the great man's bronze head.
