I think he is more thinking of the kids.

Which honestly, in all this pandemic craziness. Kids are doing it rough through school closures/sport shut down. Adults should be able to adapt, kids not so much
I thought he'd be smart enough to not comment on social media, regardless of his views.

I'm waiting for Jake Stringer's appraisal of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Pendlebury's perspective on a pandemic is nothing but a silly distraction.

Quite the condescending 'shut up and dribble' take.

Totally agree with Pendles. Absolute idiocy by Dan to shut Playgrounds.
what spread are the toddlers causing at Playgrounds?

I think it’s called Covid. And last time I looked - yesterday in fact - the kids have parents. And the parents stand around in groups chatting while the kids play. And they grab a coffee from the cafe across the road and take their masks off to drink it. And that darned virus just can’t help itself from spreading.

I'd like to be the host of a new TV show, which will feature a panel of our finest sporting heroes talking about some of the most pressing issues in our society.

I'll call it: 'When Stars go Dim'.

Pendles has booked himself a slot. I look forward to his extended discussion of pandemic and its consequences.

I hear that Dayne Zorko would like to speak about Australia's response to the late IPCC report on climate change. Can't wait, Dayne!

The philosopher-prince himself will also make an appearance. No, not Heritier Lumumba. I'm talking about Jaidyn Stephenson, who I believe would like to provide some astounding insights into the growth of right-wing politics in Australia.

Stay tuned.

The kids may be spreading COVID, but the bigger concern is the parents rolling up to supervise the playdates with a bottle of sparkling, some paté and grapes for a gossip while sitting on their arse and crammed into a picnic table.

Some people really do swallow the Dan spin. No scientific basis to shut playgrounds

About what it deserves, guts.
Just went and had a look, he's actually got a bit off a history of 'spicy takes' in this regard on social media I wasn't aware of, see a bit more where the reactions are coming from.
Fair enough, all good.

I believe Dan because he’s taking expert advice. But if you reckon there’s no scientific basis to shut down the playgrounds I’m willing to listen if you can explain what that is.

It's stupid to do it from an account with his name attached when he's a public figure, but he is only doing what the rest of us here are: throwing in his 20 cents worth. And it's lucky to be worth that. The issue is that any of us care what he thinks outside of football or related fields.

They attract people who ignore social distancing and don’t bother with masks because they’re “eating and drinking” for hours at a time. The kids at playgrounds are not the issue.
