Don't have an issue with either his comment, or his right to express it. His only mistake was suggesting that closing playgrounds was solely a consequence of the engagement party rather than the behaviour of Melbournian's more broadly.
I just think public figures are silly to post anything not work related on a public account, especially if their comment is going to be controversial.

So many people need to take a good hard look in the mirror. Plenty of people (not professional athletes) on social media who are willing to drop their (often uneducated) 2 cents on how Scott & Collingwood should be performing.

But, Scott can’t have an opinion on an issue because he “isn’t a doctor”?

Anyone flaming Scott for speaking when he isn’t an “expert” on the topic, I hope to see you never have an opinion on a Footballer or Football club on this forum or social media, because none of you are Professional Athletes or educated of what goes on within the 4 walls of the club.

Peace.

Well IF Idiots did what they are Told and Use Common Sense then Dan does not have to do this sort of Thigns
You aren't following the plot TD there is an . . element . . . that believe their 'right' to enjoy themselves in any way that enters their ermmmmm minds is absolutely paramount and everyone needs to defer to their slightest whim.
It is just exactly this type of selfishness and blind arrogance that has got us all into the situation we are now.

Absolutely nothing to do with anything I said and completely ignores the fact they spread it.

Great pearl of wisdom, do you have any more?

Thought his comment actually supported yours.

Tell me you’re Brainwashed, without actually saying you’re brainwashed.

At least Pendles didn’t take part in the pub crawl on Saturday.

I used to love a good pub crawl. Did some massive push-bike crawls around South Melbourne in the 80"s.

The last time I did that…crashed the bike, broke my leg.

Yeah, there was always potential unplanned consequences. I woke the morning after one with some significant body grazes and an upgraded pushy. Still don't know who's pushy it was, or what happened to mine...

I went to the athletics track last week after work, illegally actually as it was within 5km of my essential work but not within 5km of home. Anyway, while exercising I counted 33 people within the fence of the athletics track, and I reckon along with myself there were probably another 10 who were actually exercising. I was trying to run intervals while people stood around talking, played kick to kick with a footy, or just walked in the wrong direction around the inside lane of the track listening to music and holding hands. It was pretty infuriating as I tried to weave between them, and there was nary a mask to be seen (which of course makes perfect sense for those actually exercising).

Aths tracks are sacred ground. Only anti-clockwise and depending on the track, the two inside lanes should be left unused. If you aren’t running, get off.

In my younger, even more obnoxious days, I would have loved that situation, running intervals yelling “track” at every fkr in my way. As a young buck (about 13-14) I was living my best life training at Olympic park. This harridan straight out of Macbeth started yelling at us. We then twigged, looked behind and got out of the way. The massive unit blew past us, then trotted back our way.

I think he said with a smile, “hey boys, you watch where you’re going. Don’t get in mah way”.

Luckily I had just enough awareness not to go with my first instinct which was to tell the reigning Olympic 100m champ to go fk himself.

Now that the skate parks.. basketball courts.. and playgrounds are shut.. what's stopping folk from launching in to the pill on a football pitch? Families do not congregate on football pitches?

I'm surprised the Drac hasn't thought about that one.. then we can move on right along to banning launching into the pill on the street.. in your backyard.. handpassing it around your living room.. touching the pill.. turfing it in to the recycle bin.

Better than Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks. We need a poll.

Chin up. You'll be able to play on the swings again soon.

As long as incessant whining is allowed, you will be ok.

Interestingly, right towards the end of today’s press conference (I had it on in the background whilst continuing working) Jeroen dropped quite a nugget in response to a reporter’s whiny question on this very subject. In this outbreak we have had an instance of a child passing it to another at a playground. Reporter asked him again if that was correct and was it outside, not inside and Jeroen just went “yes” in his no bullshit manner. Let’s see if we get anymore detail in coming days however this will go a long way to explaining the no playground rule, along with removing the loophole of “excercising” that some parents were using to gather or congregate in parks.
I think it came with a caveat...

"Covid commander Jeroen Weimar said there appeared to be some evidence children playing outdoors had picked up the virus but it was not known whether those children had also been indoors together."

I'd be surprised if they didn't know whether they played together at home or also went to schools together.

I did a pub crawl when i was at Swinnie. Eleven pubs I think it was.

The club was SLOBS, Swinburne League Of Boisterous Students.

One beer at each pub got a degree, two got you a Masters, three got you a PHD.

I got all three (may not be true)- had more beers at some pubs, never got to some pubs, defs had more than 33 pots though & spewed a few times travelling from one to another by tram.

Good times.
