The best game I can recall seeing him play was actually in close game which we actually ended up losing. Against the Hawks in Round 14, 2015.

I only ever get to 1 or 2 games a year generally and this was one of them. I believe it was Maynard and Moore's first game, and possibly even the night after hearing of Phil Walsh's passing.

He had 37 touches, 10 tackles, 9 clearances and more or less carried us against a team which ended up winning the flag that year. Everything he did was unbelievable, in fact Bucks may have even said post game that it was the best game he'd seen him play.

Great game. We were on the end of some very ordinary umpiring, it was the height of the "free kick Hawthorn" period so not unexpected. It is 1 of the few games I've seen that I felt the umpiring influenced the outcome.

All-Time Career Stats:

Disposals: 8th
Handballs: 2nd, 18 behind Gary Ablett Jr.
Tackles: 4th (1 off third(GAJ), about a hundred off first (Priddis))
Inside 50s: 14th
Clearances: 10th
Clangers: Not in the Top 30. Ablett, Martin and Selwood are all top 10 and Danger is 11th. Considering the sheer number of times he has disposed of the Sherrin, this is particularly impressive in my opinion.
Contested Possessions: 7th
Uncontested Possessions: 6th
Goal Assists: 7th

Given that he looks to have years of high-level performance left in him, I think he will be the handballingest, tacklingest, statistically most impressive player ever by the end of his career.

Just to add on this. He’s #2 for average disposals (in top 30) @ 26.48 only marginally behind Dane Swan 26.85.

It highlights that hes not up there because of his longevity. He’s up there due to his consistency and longevity.

The 7 blokes above him have all played more games than him. Sam Mitchell has played 329.

He has 16 games to get 399 disposals.

I have a feeling he’ll get there.

He will also end up the most uncontested possession winner ever. Only 800 behind Brent Harvey.

Also probably the highest Goal Assists ever. He’s 78 behind Eddie Betts.

Still looking to improve after this many games! Such professionalism shows his consistency isn't a fluke. Great to hear he's not done yet too.

“It does go by pretty quick. I don’t feel 32 or feel like I’ve played as many games as I have so you always try to stay in the moment, get better and improve,” Pendlebury said.

“I’m still sort of shocked that I’m here about to play game 314 for the club.

“It feels like I’m 150 or 200 games in still trying to look for ways to get better but it’s been a hell of a journey and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and I still think I’ve got a bit left in the tank as well.”

Bought my self a Pendlebury mug. Wasn’t cheap. But versatile... can drink coffee, tea or whiskey from it.

It's impossible to rate all the great Collingwood players and decide who was the greatest.
But I think you could make a very compelling case that no player in our history has provided more on-field than Pendelbury.

Not only has he played the most number of games.
He was a valuable player in his first season.
He's been A+ for most seasons.
He's never has a poor season.
He's rarely had poor games.

Especially hard when there is little to no footage nor living person's recollection of some of our greatest (Coventry in particular). But Pendles is up there with all of them

Just looking forward to Monday night, not only to watch us knock off Port, but even more to watch Pendles break the games and Captaincy records.
Couldn't be more deserving to my favourite Collingwood player ever, and probably the greatest Collingwood player ever. The ultimate professional and a rolls royce of the whole competition.
Happy l bidded successfully a couple of years ago for his signed guernsey, which proudly sits framed in my study. Going to be a real collector's piece in years to come...

Seriously one of the most consistent players over a very long time. He's up there with my fav players like P Daicos, G Brown, Buckley, etc.

Whilst he's always very consistent he rarely gets the really high numbers like Swanny did. But then he rarely has a bad game.

2005 was a funny draft. I was spewing we couldn't get Murphy and then I thought we'd draft X Ellis, and then I read out Pendlebury's name I was perplexed... How wrong was I. To be fair it was a pretty good draft year but we nailed it with Thomas and Pendles... They were the backbone of our premiership year.

Yeah CONSISTENT sums the bloke up for mine. He's been a model citizen all the way through and continues to set the example for the rest of the team. He's not in the same class as Daics or Greening for mine but he's in Buckley's and Bobby Rose's for sure! So very highly rated.
To see him "stop" and watch the players around him fly past in all directions only for him to then exit the congestion onto that sweet left foot and drill a pass is still a priceless thing of beauty...and that SKILL has never left him. The great players have that TIME, the vision to realise where they are and who is about them and to then SEIZE the moment and do something that impacts the game.
Pendles has been ( and continues to be) a model of consistency...more power to your arm skipper!

Speaking of that draft, I remember the Richmond nuffie Greg Miller scoffing at us post draft hinting that we'd stuffed it again. How wrong was he. When SP played his first few games in the VFL, it was clear that he had something special. Still the player that amazes me the most with his composure and ability to make time stand still. It'll be a sad day when he finishes up. Hopefully he has another 2 or so years left in him.

He might only have 6 AA’s to his name, but he has had 10 AA-standard seasons. Throw in a premiership that he was integral to and a Norm Smith and I think that puts him above all other Pies players from the last 50 years. It’s not worth debating, because it’s subjective and impossible to prove or disprove, but that’s just my opinion - what a champion he is.

He gets the TIME from timing - like a professional dancer, it's all about timing your movements (and pauses) to others.

Always just a joy to watch. A sportsman who you can truly say, has set a great example and is a fine and outstanding role model for young people to look up to. We, as a club will celebrate Pendles after he and indeed we, (as supporters) are all long gone. The time and space thing is extraordinary and is, of course, what has set him apart from those he plays against, or indeed with; it is a unique talent and none have done it better in my half a century of watching football. An inspiration as a captain, he leads by example, often kicking a great goal or dominating play when we need someone to stand up. One of our greatest champs and will now stand alone, for some time, as our longest serving warrior.
