If today was any guide, the end is coming very fast for Pendles. It was painful watching every opponent elect to take him on and leave him in the dust. The proud warrior was made to look like a lame duck.

We need to do a Luke Hodge with this Old Legend and move him permanently into a half-back flank role, playing [emoji640][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]-[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]% game time in a rotation with Houston and Jaicos.

For the good of the team, Pendles’ days as a centre square mid must now be over. But will Fly have the ruthlessness to make the call?

I'm gonna say unless we look like making finals

Unfortunately our champion won't see out the season

Pendles should be a cameo player now..nothing more. And on field coach
I personally think Pendlebury will get better as other players will fade over the season. Let's see who is right.

We all love Pendles but, realistically, who’s more likely to fade over a season - a player in late-[emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]’s or mid-[emoji638][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]’s?

It's pretty simple - he cannot be a CBA mid anymore. I don't have an issue with him rolling up to stoppage at boundary throw ins or around the ground but his lack of spread and speed from centre stoppage was on show for everyone.

80% CBA's today is a rude awakening to where we are in terms of depth.

Pendlebury is arguably our greatest ever player. If it wasn’t for the screw up transition in coaching from Mick Malthouse to Nathan Buckley, Pendlebury would be a triple premiership player. Instead he had to wait till the end of his career to secure a second premiership medal. Having said that Pendlebury is only human, like the rest of us. You can’t fight off Father Time. It gets to us all. I want to remember the way he was, not the way he is today chasing GWS players half his age around a football field. I wish he would retire now and go assistant coaching at another club before he takes on a senior coaching job in the next five years. He owes to himself to follow his dream and coach another AFL club.

Yes. Having Pendles at CBA hurts us two ways.

We lose the ability to run and spread when we have the ball AND he is a defensive liability as his direct opponent can jog away from him with ease.

Heaven help us if we continue this strategy when we play teams like Sydney or Hawthorn.

He has started 2025 the same way he started 2024.

Maybe he builds himself into the season but it’s certainly a cause for concern as he may need to be managed a lot more during the season and not be played in every game

Yeah, imagine it’s the last quarter on grand final day at the end of the longest season ever and it’s 30 degrees, you really think the oldest player on the field is going to be the one dominating and securing the flag for us?

Oh, wait…

But is 2 years a lot when you are closer to 40 than 30. I reckon he was poor in the practice matches as well. And by the time he picks up the pace when everyone else slows down we might be already cooked. I do not like seeing him trashing his legacy. Some of the young kids barracking for us would only see this version of Pendles.

Pendles will know when the time is right

I hope he and the pies turn it around

Hopefully not 1 year to many for the great man

Would he be a good super sub ?
