Congrats to Scotty Thompson who will play game number 200 for Adelaide against Geelong this weekend

Been a fine career with the crows, highlighted by his 4th (i think) place in the Brownlow last year.

Kudos He-Man

Might be jumping the gun a bit here. With finals out of the equation they may well rest him, giving him time to recover from the groin injury that's been hobbling him all season.

That said, I'd like to add my congratulations if he does get up for this week's game.

Whenever you play yoru 200th for us Scottie - well done.

You've been a colossus, and looked like one, for the best part of a decade. My wife in particular has loved watching you play - and that hasn't gone without its benefits to me.

Well done Thommo - may you reach 250 playing in a flag.

Assuming as Vader says he gets up for this week (even if he doesn't will surely play this 200th this year), congratulations on Scotty Thompson on 200 games - has been a great servant of the club and the way he carried our midfield in 2010-11 is still fresh in the mind.

Really hoping his drop in form this year is just due to niggling injuries that he can come back from and not any dreaded '30+ slowdown' that might lead to his retirement :(

Dem Guns :hearts:

Congrats to Thommo, whenever he plays his 200th (Considering the club is going to make a big thing about this, it's almost 100% certain to be this week)

A true servant of the club, and will go down as one of our best trades. Hopefully he gets over these injuries and kicks on next year as the Thommo we all know and love.

A great player who is terribly out of form. Hopefully this milestone will mark a turning point for him in an otherwise forgettable season.

A great player who is playing injured to try and keep contributing to the club he's largely carried for the last 5 years.

Congrats to Thomo when he does play his 200th he always gives 110%

Thanks for saying it for me.. Some of the talk and treatment of Thommo has been disgraceful of late, also when it's been known he's injured.. And yet he still leads most of our stat categories.. That's embarrassing for the rest of the players..

do we know he's injured though? i don't recall seeing anything about it?

I'm wondering if this is part of his problem. His intensity has always been legend and lately he seems to be going in harder than ever before. Maybe this is a subconscious overcompensation for awareness of his advancing years. His disposal, always a bit erratic, has lately become deplorable. I wonder if Scotty has himself too far to the right on the performance / arousal curve. Maybe he needs to be a bit more Zen in his approach. Just wondering.

But anyways, thank you Scotty and congratulations on a stellar career.

Thanks for that. Puts my evening last night into better context.

That is a good point, I just feel at his age he should really start taking a backseat occasionally and get rested (against weaker teams) on a regular bases, to young ones need to step up. Unfortunately our team is not good enough to make the finals this year and hopefully next season he doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting himself.

Probably holds the title of the most mesomorphic player ever to play for the Crows.

Actually just on that - if the AFC website is correct (87kg) he is far too heavy this season.

I've been wondering if they've perhaps gone too far with his weights program. Remember when Roo got so massive under Shaw that it started to negatively effect his game? Thommo was already huge before Sando arrived and we started concentrating on the weights and wrestling stuff.
