Geelong vs Richmond today.

Not even trying to hide the fact they've rigged this game.
Not our fault that Richmond are too tight to pay off the umpires adequately.

Let me know what you think.
The amount of pre-determined outcomes has risen significantly this year under Gil McLachlan. Here are the list of games I've identified as being at least 60% rigged and I'll also throw out some players who are involved in throwing games.

Round 2:
Bulldogs vs Sydney: There is no question that this one was fixed. Can't have the Swans upsetting the Bulldogs 1 in a million flag unfurling ceremony. Just look at all the contentious 50m penalties in the last quarter. I know the Swans had a few injuries going into this game, but we saw this week how they absolutely ass blasted the dogs and the umpiring was very low key compared to this game. No doubt about this one.

Round 6:
GWS vs Bulldogs: Again way too much involvement from the umpires in this one. GWS should have won comfortably but free kicks were plucked out to the dogs to keep it a "close" encounter for the 60/40 bulldogs fans. In the end a blatant free kick should have been awarded in the dogs forward 50 but the umpires ended up giving the Giants a 50 meter penalty to ice the game. Just very suss all round.

Round 7:
Bulldogs vs Richmond: The dogs fought hard here but Richmond should have run out over the top of them. What was with that deliberate out of bounds? o_O A very suss second half from Cotchin too.

Round 9:
Geelong vs Bulldogs: The bulldogs should have won this before the umpires intervened in the last quarter. It started with that blatant dropping the ball by Selwood which got called as a push in the back by Cloke. Then there was the run down on Bob Murphy where he got his kick away and got penalised for it. The bulldogs got nothing in that last quarter and the cats were able to celebrate their first game at the newly developed stadium.

GWS vs Richmond: Cotchin's disposals were rubbish in that second half. Again the Tigers lose in 'typical Richmond fashion'. Starting to see a theme? Richmond will probably get umpired to a premiership this year.

Round 10:
Geelong vs Port Adelaide: Just try and tell me this one wasn't fixed.

Round 12:
Hawthorn vs Gold Coast: Hawthorn could have pinched this, but contentious umpiring sealed the deal for Gold Coast. After the game Clarkson made a comment about the umpiring and the AFL goes WHACK! DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT THE UMPIRING CLARKO, NOTHING WRONG WITH IT KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT :rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:

Carlton vs GWS:
Carlton are a good defensive team, we know that. But the umpiring was an entirely one sided affair. Of course not many people outside of Carlton fans would have watched this one so pretty easy to keep quiet. Toby Greene should have sealed the deal or at LEAST tied the game but he didn't. 0 goals 5, very suss player.

Melbourne vs Collingwood: Collingwood fans had every right to be filthy in that last quarter. Rigged to the absolute shithouse.

SPECIAL MENTIONS:
These are games that could have been rigged but not 100% sure:
All the Essendon wins
St. Kilda vs GWS
West Coast vs Bulldogs
Brisbane vs Fremantle
Fremantle vs Richmond
Sydney vs Hawthorn
Collingwood vs Geelong

Now my players who I've identified as being AFL :seedling:s:

Trent Cotchin
Sam Mitchell
Jarman Impey
Toby Greene
Patrick Dangerfield
Dustin Martin - not too sure if he's an AFL plant or working rogue for organised crime

I'm sure there's more out there but these are the ones I'm sold on getting extra $$$$ by the AFL for matchfixing.

Let me know what you think.
You obviously Don't

I am a Cat fan and to see the count at half time 17--7 I had to believe the umps were doing Geelong proud a rare occurrence. Anyone who does not believe that umpires effect results are kidding themselves. EG. Western Bulldogs 48 frees for 17 against in final series last year. I am happy they won the flag but the AFL is a modern day scam. Commodus could not do better in ancient Rome. AFL modern day keep the Plebs happy BS

There has been for sure. The AFL, the betting agencies, the players. So many of them love to punt and having gambling players, they'd certainly **** with the lines just like they do in the NFL and NBA. Soccer etc, sport is rigged and corrupt.

The first ever Q Clash was rigged in Gold Coast's favour.

Doubt it.

If that's true, it's a shame they didn't give GWS the same treatment :$

At least 4 Saints games this year have been rigged up like a circus tent. And they're the losses; Gil tried to rig the win for us against PA but we shat the bed.

I think the Umpires made sure the Eagles got over the line, a few momentum changing calls.

Blues are done for this year no need to let them win however it would be in the AFL's interest to have a WA team in the 8 especially the Eagles.

Think of the AFL business as the stock market, they have all the stats for every game, attendance stats, TV viewership stats, they know what each team is worth and with this information they try make up the top 8 as much as they can.

Watch the remainder of Port Adelaide's games they AFL has no need to have 2 Adelaide clubs making the finals when you have 2 big clubs from Melbourne waiting to break into the 8.

Good to hear some input from a Geelong supporter who isn't one eyed.

The organised crime figures who run Geelong have a large degree of pull over AFL House and the umpiring department, which is why Geelong receive a golden run from the umpires every week, no matter where they play.

Also, the government have invested hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayers money into rebuilding cheat park, so for their investment to be seen as being worth the money, Geelong need to be near the top of the ladder so the crowds come.
It's really tin foil hat stations now.

Nope. Facts.

Geelong are run by organised crime figures. Fact.

These crime figures have significant pull at AFL House. Fact.

The government spent hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars in rebuilding cheat park. Fact.

The government need the crowds to come for their investment in cheat park to be justified. Fact.

The crowds won't come if Geelong aren't at the pointy end of the ladder. Fact.

This whole thread is either one big piss take, or you've got some real delusion issues. Fact.

Comedy gold thread though :thumbsu:

From 1992 until 2006 our attendance never varied beyond a 2,000 per home game window. We had some gun sides in that period and some shithouse ones. Every year, (this is before we started playing so often at docklands and MCG mind you) our average attendance was between 25,000 and 27,000.

So yeah, good call.

What have the AFL pumped the most money into this decade?

Answer that, and then look at the preliminary final result last year.

Geelong vs Sydney preliminary final was not fixed.
GWS vs Bulldogs preliminary final was fixed.
Sydney vs Bulldogs grand final was fixed.

AFL did not want an all Sydney grand final last year as it would have resulted in a lot of fans losing interest. In fact they did not want either Sydney or GWS winning the flag last year, which is why they fixed those finals.

No doubt they wanted Geelong to beat Sydney in the first preliminary final, but the Cats just didn't turn up that night. Umpires really couldn't do much to help the Cats.

To answer your question, yes GWS have had the most money pumped into them this decade, but given all the angst over their extra salary cap, zones and academies, the AFL did not want them winning the flag last year.

They didn't want Sydney winning the flag as they are still pissed off about them pinching Buddy from under the nose of GWS. Remember the abusive phone call that Mike Fitzpatrick made to Richard Colless?

Geelong played in finals most of those years including 4 grand finals, so yes of course the crowds were coming to cheat park to watch the Cats play.

Remember what happened in 1999 when the club was a rabble for a brief period? Crowds stopped coming and the club sank into an $8m debt. Both the AFL and the government want to avoid that situation happening again.

Hell 2015 was only 2 years ago and the Cats missed finals, and guess what? Crowds stopped coming to cheat park. Good thing the Cats were able to open up the cheque book at the end of 2015 to poach star players from other clubs so they could get back into the top 8, including a certain star player from my own club.

Would have resulted in non-Sydney fans losing interest...... for a week.

Wow. I know this is just a wild guess, but I have a suspicion that anyone with a brain bigger than a pixel could work out that the better outcome for the AFL would be, oh I don't know, to see the Giants win the comp or at least make a Grand Final and justify the millions of dollars they've poured into the club. A club with a far bigger potential fan base than what the Dogs will ever achieve, even if it is far less loyal.

And yeah I do remember.

We averaged 321 less spectators per game than in 1996, when we went 13-8 coming off a grand final appearance hahaha. Gee they deserted us in droves that year.
Not to mention that wretched 2015 season. With part of the ground being redeveloped, we averaged 900 less than 2016 when we finished 3rd in the home and away season. God it was like playing in front of no-one at all.

Good thing you were able to open the cheque book and get Carlton's best player so you could get back to being a remotely watchable side.

See I can do it too.
