So it seems we would need to part with more than our 2 x compo picks to get O'meara. Thats a pretty steep price, and we'd be putting 3 eggs into 1 basket..
Any ideas what Crouch would cost us?

Would you trade 3 first rounders for the no.1 draft pick?
10ish, 12 + 18ish for pick 1?

Sadly true
Why do we have 18? Assuming we finish 10th in 2012 we should have Pick 11 as our first rounder, which means the compo would be Pick 12.
Dont think pick 18 comes into it mate - its going to be pick 10 - 12 approx (depending on where we finish).

Two compo picks and our first rounder? Get f***ed.
I can accept parting with the two compo picks and a player (Warnock, Bate, Dunn) but no way in hell do I give them 3 first round picks for a 17 year old kid that can't play until 2013.
My preference would be forget about him, draft three kids next year in the first round of what is supposed to be one of the best drafts in years and reap the rewards of them.
My mate had a Saab once.. It was shit, broke down and cost him thousands of dollars to fix. Eventually took it to the wreckers and got 100bucks for it.
Scully=O'Meara (talent wise)
Scully>Two compo picks
And I'm sorry BigSexc but why did your mate pay $10,000 to fix up a car that cost him just over half of that?
not to sure mate, private school kid...
Don't know how you came to that conclusion when O'Meara hasn't set foot in the AFL yet and won't for another year.

I know your fixated on getting him mate but i just fail to see how we can beat the GC's offer of pick 4 in this years draft, maybe if we offer them our two compo picks they would consider it, but would you trade pick 4 in a draft for picks 10-11? Probably not. GC's offer is going to be hard to beat, the only saving grace we might have is that our picks are flexible and they can use them when they are a much better side, who knows? Maybe its better for us to save the picks and then go after some of GC's youngsters who are gonna be pushed out due to the fact you cant have a list of 40 superstars.Having seen Scully at the same age it's pretty easy to make the judgement. Probably should have specified what I was looking at though.
O'Meara's probably tracking as well as, if not better, than what Swallow and Scully were at the same age. Probably not better than Swallow the underage Larke medallist but he has a smaller body.
Yeah but they same to make out its not a huge chance, this systems ****ed when GC and GWS get access to all the best kids in AUS, then theres a chance for the other clubs to grab one of 4 17yr olds, and the bloody GC are favourites to get him... I hope people understand how ****ing tough its going to be to win a flag when GWS and GC are up and running... there gonna be better than the Bris PA pairing early in the decadeApparently we are the only chance apart from gc of getting him, will be interesting!
I was sort of thinking that, but on the other hand are they really gonna cost themselves a better deal just because they are scared GC will also be good at the same time as them?I'm not sure they'll be too keen to deal with the GC..
