My boss was giving me shit about hwsnbn leaving and when I told him I didn't care, he said what if he wins a brownlow one day. Why do people continue with the "he'll want to go home" argument? It almost never happens, and is generally linked to lack of opportunity anyway - see Griffin to Freo last year. Gaff won't leave, and if we somehow manage to land O'Meara he won't leave either.
Remember how Adelaide fans were wetting their pants because they thought Trengove would go home? That worked well for them.

Case in point. Buckley left Brisbane NOT to go home, but to come to Melbourne, where he wanted to play because it is the capital city of the AFL.

Less players leave Melbourne for their home state than those that leave other states to come to Melbourne.

Though I would say that this is more due to, before this year anyway, the fact Victoria has 10 teams compared to 6 (now 8).

Furthermore... the shrouded culture of WA is not to somes liking... Adelaide...well do I need to say anything... and Sydney and Brisbane is rugby based.
