"Tom Scully (knee soreness) has been named in the initial squad, but is under an injury cloud". *

Suss.

There is absolutely nothing we (Melbourne members/supporters) can do to in relation to Scully re-signing with us or defecting to GWS. All we can hope is that Scully is the upstanding young man that has been widely reported and he eventually puts pen to paper and signs a lengthy contract with the MFC.

I'm sure that Jimmy, Schwabby and the rest of the board are working overtime to ensure that an elite talent like Scully doesn't just walk out the door.

Countless forests are going to be felled & be used on this topic before we have a decision but I have faith that Scully will re-sign but I don't think it will be anytime soon.
What we can do is cheer him on, because he's yet to do anything wrong.

If he departs: burn him

How is this not affecting Scully?

How much more speculation can he take before he either bites the bullet and informs his management that he wants the deal done now? (the offer I'm sure has been there for a long time). Otherwise, we have to consider that the only reason we're 'waiting for the season's end' is for the same reason Ablett, Brown, Harbrow and co. said the same things.

Agreed - theres no way in hell he's going to wait until the end of the season just to re-sign with us.

The offer on the table now is probably as high as its going to be at years end - if we dont get the deal done in the next 4 - 6 weeks, Im expecting him to go.

hmmm.. I dont like the sound of this.

Luke Darcy added: “You take Tom Scully out (of Melbourne) it would be the equivalent of taking Nathan Buckley out of Collingwood 10 years ago or 12 years ago.”

Rubbish.

By christ that flog talks some crap.
