Roast Scum Melbourne supporters

Melbourne must be made to pay for the disrespect shown to Dids. The club should end the agreement to allow the Dees a home fixture on Queens birthday. As a member I do not support giving those silver tails any financial support.
I totally agree with this. Why would we prop up this crap club when their supporters are so ridiculously feral without any semblance of conscience, they have no qualms about raiding our football department and they clearly are happy to resort to unfair means when they can't stop us by playing real football. Unsportsmanlike and totally outside the spirit of the game. Withdraw support now Ed.

i dare tip my toe in the water without getting suspended by a collingwood mod again....but in the presence of free speach...

it was a tough, desperate crowd, hoping against hope that their failing team could unseat the high flying magpies.

the team used rough tactics to unsettle the well drilled, more professional collingwood side.

i recon its just footy. the dees tried hard. you recon too hard, i recon not hard enough, cause they lost.

they had their chances and blew them. their tactics worked. but they did some heartbreakingly stupid things with the ball in hand. you won a good, hard fought game, and won the arm wrestle when it came to that. your boys will be a better unit for the experience.

tough game.
tough crowd.

looking forward to this tradition continue....

Ironic thread is ironic.

Late hit on Young
Push Maxwell into the bench
Laugh Didak off the ground

The irony is that you still need to be sarcastic.

Right of reply, was in the Olympic and cheered the shank, stopped when I realised he was limping. Got the radio report about 20secs later.

I'd suggest it was a matter of circumstance - making a kick like that then looking like you were dragged, not everyone would get it and people get caught in the heat of the moment.

Fair enough, but it doesn't explain the jeering when he was announced as being subbed off which clearly indicates he was injured.

I actually couldn't believe for the first time in 20 plus years of going to the football, I had to tell an much much older Demons supporter to "Shut the f**k up, and turn the f**k around".

My lord this guy was an idiot.

After Blease (I think it was) tried to bork and fell over himself and gort the tripping free, we were all complaining about the fact that he fell over himself. This tool turns around to us (he had been annoying all game) and says "Can you f**king see it from here?".

That's when I lost my shit and said what I said. He didn't turn around again for the rest of the game.

So I guess the take away from this is that no, you couldn't see it, seeing as he was tripped?

Perhaps before you lot go singling out other clubs as having poor form you should check your own backyard. I seem to recall a certain gold jacketed w***er celebrating pretty hard during the final series when Buddy got injured.

I was sitting in the Olympic stand level 3 and it was pretty obvious that Didak had hurt himself even from how far away I was sitting.

A large chunk of the level 1 MCC members were cheering him all the way to the bench:thumbsdown:

Which equates to half the Melbourne supporters cheering when Dids got injured. Yeah right. I don't recall too many people trying to justify Joffas response but then that's just a clear indication of your clubs lack of class.

"Half the Melbourne supporters" Get a clue.

Basically your position comes down to:

Collingwood supporters cheering for injuries to opposition players = small minority of bad apples
Opposition supporters cheering for injuries to Collingwood players = froth at the mouth

What about the cheer with the announcement came over that Didak had been subbed??? oh you missed that one ( heat of the momet twice??? what's the new term for that ) ... get back on your own board you excuse for a football club... snow season started last week off you go.

haha keep staying on the bottom melbourne, we'll always have the last laugh.
and for dids, watch his shimmy in full action in september dees,(if your not on holidays yet) but i spose you'll be booking them very soon

But he wasn't tripped.

Unless you count the grass as a living thing, given that's what he tripped over.

In the end, supporters will complain about free kicks, correctly or incorrectly. It was his reaction to OUR reaction that got me.

I'm not fussed about the rest of the stuff in this thread, I expect it. People need a thicker skin when it comes to that shit. Booing an injured player? Big deal, these players aren't babies. They're grown men who get paid MASSIVE dollars to play sport for God's sake. I'm sure they can take some shit.

I was singling out ONE supporter. Not the whole base. Read my post next time.

Melbourne are a joke of a club, and have been for the best of 10 years. Seriously, with all of the draft picks handed to them on a platter in recent times, how can they still be so ordinary on field? I guess picking jack watts over nic naitanui does however give us some insight into the recruiting geniuses they have employed during that time. Seriously, jack watts at no. 1??? Pretty sure we also got sidebottom at about 11 and beams at about 28 in the same draft

Forget about their supposed fight shown after being 52 pts down yesterday - the game was over 10 mins into the 2nd quarter, with melb not having kicked a goal, against a coll team missing reid pendlebury ball shaw toovey macaffer krakouer keefe, down a player already with didak gone, with tarrant playing his 1st real game of the year, and a couple of blokes in williams and elliott playing about their 3rd. Melb were pathetic when the game was hot, and only got back into it to some degree when the pies eased off the gas. A truly pathetic performance on what they always build up as their biggest game of the year

After Didak kicked the ball he turned around and headed straight for the bench, its not like someone was sent out to give him the message he was dragged, so i dont think you can give them the benefit of the doubt on that. The shanked kicked getting cheered is fine, thats part of footy. But it was obvious to anyone who watches a bit of footy that he was limping quite badly as he was coming off. Thats when the idiots stood up and were clapping above their heads. I wouldn't say it was a high percentage, but it was quite a few who did. They knew exactly what they were cheering.

Have no problem with the ones who cheered the kick & didnt realise he went off injured.

I think the sniping things through the game are a different issue, they tend to happen from time to time, particularly when a side is desperately trying to show something in a mis match.

The treatment of the injured player is another matter. As much as i'd like to agree with Swoop, it was an absolute disgrace and was directed with venom at a clearly injured player as he left the field, the abuse lead by the MCC. Goes against any sort of sportmanship in any code in any country around the world. Snivellingly pathetic came to mind....
Without us being self righteous, i do hope the club takes the issue up in a private manner. I dont know how many MFC games record a profit at the MCG but i am certain the books of the MFC would look even less appealing if this fixture was removed.

Tapscott and Sylvia need to be outed , seriously they were dog acts , thats not tough football. I'd assume they're heroes in the eyes of the Melbourne mob.

The game reminded me of a junior contest I watched 4 weeks ago. My son's team outclassed and outran their opponents who got frustrated and started whacking them as a response. Not good.

A few of their players were taking part in weak acts.

Tapscott's was the worst though.

As to the whole, cheering/jeering injured players, I personally don't see it as a big deal. People need thicker skins I reckon.

I hope GWS beat them this week. Melbourne fans are just angry at the fact that they have to rebuild again.
