With the season underway we finally have a look at where some teams an lists are at after preseason
Few recruits from warby seemed to do alright but just got over the line against a fairly unknown upwey side. Rumour has it there was a wedding and a few key players were out. Looking at woori team sheet a lot of new names but not many transfers there way are the kids starting to come through to replace the loss Of keys players
Welcome to division 1 Yarra glen....could be a long season few missing but to concede 30 goals is a worry.
Wandin and olinda flex there muscles with big wins
Heard a lot of good news from belgrave but didn't show much on the we

Monbulk to old and slow against a young and fast hville

Looking forward to this weekend to for a better indication of where teams are out
 
Good result from Warby with a few out and the new blokes playing together for the first time.

Agree with the comments but some other things to ask/mention

Is Ben Monkhorst going to be available when VFL start ? - huge hole if not

Did Belgrave get hit with the same wedding as Upwey?????

Watched Upwey Warby - Warby were good with their new recruits, Hudson the difference on the day with 5 goals, Number 12 - D Gordon also very good.

Watched Olinda on Sunday, certainly good running side - very even across the ground.

Very even across the ground indeed. Looking at the round summary they had 16 goal kickers; 2 blokes kicked 10 between them and the other 14 chipped in for 19. Fair effort by anyone's standards. And what's happened at Upwey in the netball (it is a football netball league, so I don't see why we can't talk about netball). A grade was undefeated in the home and away season last year, this year not fielding a team. Must've been an interesting off season at "The Dome".
 
A scathing email sent about players which was unintentionally CC'd to said players. Mass exodus occurred after this. A meeting was organised to smooth it over. 3 players showed up and it achieved nothing.

That's the rumour doing the rounds anyway!

Surely you're joking? That's like aa rookie standard of stupidity, everyone knows if you want to scorch someone you do it on bigfooty under a fake name.
And what was planned to be said at this meeting "sorry girls, it was meant to be behind your back"

I heard it was because of paid vnl players pulling the pin

Olinda very strong, Wandin very strong, Upwey dropped off, Monbulk dropped off, Mt Ev dropped off, Warby has improved.. Belgrave, Healesville and Yarra Glen still irrelevant? Is that the verdict after round 1? Anyone watch any of the games, and see how it went down..Upwey game? Monbulk game?
 
Potentially alarming for other clubs is that Wandin won by 100 points but there were elements of their game that I'm sure they weren't happy with and that they would want to improve on.

Not sure you can read too much into it yet. Woori lost their first game by plenty the last 2 years to teams who didn't play finals and one got relegated. Watched the Belly Woori game on Saturday and would suggest a Woori will still be thereabouts. Lost a few and picked up a couple who looked good. Ben Monkhorst a key, especially if BJ heads OS. Without those 2 they would struggle up forward.
