We have always been popular, thats why save our skins worked, thats why the fighting tiger fund cleared our debts, thats why we have 75k members and largest gate takings of recent years.

How's Geelongs debt going, another 40 year drought as you had recently is probably not survivable for such a small club.

Your minor burst of popularity is not the norm, our popularity is.
Current President Peggy O'Neal moved to the Richmond suburb in 1990 and wanted some local community involvement and SOS was the perfect place to start. One thing lead to another and hey presto, look what eventuated.

It's so sad the Geelong supporters are so obsessed and insecure and feel the need to troll Richmond.

Apart from welcoming back a few retirees they havent had much to cheer for lately, then there is the anxiety issues of running into massive crowds of Richmond supporters, might be time to bump CB17's safe house thread, poor things.

Worst year quality I’ve ever seen but maybe that’s footy now ?

Still doesn’t diminish the winner or any winners going forwards I think us “dinosaurs” have to accept it isn’t what it was and never will be again

Debt?
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
We don’t have debt.
We are one of a few only that are completely debt free and we did it while paying for our own stadium to be upgraded.
So a “larger and bigger” club is in a worse financial state than a “small country” club... wow you must suck.

Lol are you kidding you are not in a better financial state than Richmond, we are totally debt free one of only 2 vic clubs to be debt free, Collingwood is the other, your clubs report doesnt come out until later today but as of last year it appears you had a debt of 3m and were hoping to be debt free at the end of this year, so dont get ahead of yourself little puddy cat.

This was from Dec 2016:
The Geelong Football Club should be debt-free for the first time in over 50 years at the end of next season, according to president Colin Carter.

Nope, try again delusion.
Delusion is it, champ?

The Cats president said the club should not be forced to play home games that result in it losing money.

"We still struggle with the AFL's fixture," he said.

"Our ambition is nine home games in Geelong and two mega-games at the MCG, and we are hopeful that our rebuilt stadium will help us get to that goal."

So as I said giving away home games to play at the MCG for profit.
