Simpson has two years left on his contract. We're not sacking him for the payout it'd cost.

I agree that the Eagles will not sack Simmo, but he will come under big pressure in 2022.

Me thinks he will need to wield a massive cattle prod over the pre season training period. Some older bulls need massive jolts.

I don't know why Btett Ratten isn't an option. It could be that he has a contract St Kilda can't afford to buy out. But the administration of St Kilda has always been full of problems so I never trust anything will go smoothly (e.g. the.move to Seaford and.back to Moorabbin... what a debacle).

Why are you appointing a coach with a worse record than the coach you sacked? All you are doing is accepting whoever's left. Didn't hawthorn use Alan Joyce as a caretaker coach in 88? If you want clarko for 5 years, why appoint someone you don't want?

Clearly you don't have a grasp on any of this, I can't be rehashing it for you once again, Teague had to go, that is all you need to know.

Clarkson isn't coaching now and may not in the near future, I don't get how anyone can make grandiose statements like that.

Why did he have to go? Look at Richmond 2016, Collingwood 2017, Geelong 06, Teague had less timed than all three of those guys, if they had snuck into the 8 would he have still being sacked?

Clarko is having 12 months off, he will be back coaching in 2023, you can't sack Voss after a year, so you'll never get clarko now, your president promised the world and didn't deliver anything better than originally had

Agreed on all except maybe Leon. He has somehow turned them around in a season that I thought they’d finish bottom 6. Missed the window though for a flag.
Although we finished sixth playing with one of the youngest lists in the comp. people were singing the young Sydney side and their youth and we are younger.

I think the giants had a fantastic year. Went down to Geelong and knocked off the cats with numerous injuries. Not sure you can do that with a shi* coach.

Will he now ???

Better give me the lotto numbers for the next 12 months, next years premiers & the Melb Cup winner whilst you are at it.

If you were a betting man, the odds would be very high clarko is coaching in 2023, just like Matthews and Malthouse he'll take 12 months off to refresh and be head coach in 2023.
Meanwhile you will be stuck with Voss, languishing outside the 8, with the club ready to implode again.

Your president came out and said you'll get the best most experienced coach out there and you bring in Michael Voss

And if Clarkson comes out at the end of next year and says "no, I don't want to coach", we will have endured a hybrid year with an unwanted coach and still won't have anyone with experience on the horizon.

People have s**t-canned us for what we have done thus far, can you imagine the backlash from supporters if we followed your idiotic plan and ended up with three-fifths of bugger all ?? We would be the laughing stock of the footy world !!

Clubs need to take control of their own destiny, not base their business plans on a crystal ball, Madam Mim's card readings or a weija board !!

Seriously, you need to go into the bath room, stand in front of the mirror, put some viagra eyedrops in and take a long, hard look at yourself.

I think people are s**t canning you for just getting whatever was there, there was no candidate available that fitted Carlton's criteria, it reminds me of a 3am pickup at a nightclub, all the good ones have gone home, but they'll do mentality.

Even if clarko didn't want to, you could get Hinkley, hardwick Simpson in 12 months time. The board could have a list of 4 that they've had 12 months to lure and secure, their are plenty of quality assistants who would take the reigns for 12 months with no pressure, the worst case is they are bloody good and you win the flag. You have to think outside the square sometimes.

I think any footy person fears Carlton will be in the same position in 12 months time and thats not good for anyone.
