I just saw we are the first premiership winning team that didn’t have a left footer in its side on GF day
McStay - what could have been!

Bodes well for the year ahead. I was a little surprised at only kicking the 7th most points for the year, but was likely a function of our really hard draw, and not burying many teams when we had the opportunity.

List analysis: Which club has the most goalkicking firepower?

BRISBANE boasts incredible firepower in attack, while only one club is without a player who has booted 50 goals in a season before.

The Lions will go into 2026 looking to go back-to-back-to-back and they shape as being hard to stop again.

The reigning premiers have the most players with 100-plus career goals, the most who have kicked 50 in a season before and the most who managed 20 majors in 2025.

Led by Charlie Cameron, Brisbane has nine players who have reached 100 career goals, with Collingwood alongside it atop that list.

The Lions entered 2025 with just one player – Cameron – who had slotted 50 majors in a single season, but now have three after the arrival of former West Coast co-captain Oscar Allen, and Logan Morris' 53-goal campaign.

Only Greater Western Sydney has as many players with 50-goal seasons in Toby Greene, Jesse Hogan and Jake Stringer.

Brisbane did share the goalkicking responsibilities around during its premiership campaign as seven players managed at least 20, although one of those – Callum Ah Chee – has made the move to Adelaide.

Most goals: Charlie Cameron (436)
Players with 100-plus career goals: 9 (Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Dayne Zorko, Zac Bailey, Cam Rayner, Lincoln McCarthy, Oscar Allen, Lachie Neale, Hugh McCluggage)
Players with 50-plus goal seasons: 3 (Charlie Cameron - 4 times, Oscar Allen, Logan Morris)
Leading goalkicker in 2025: Logan Morris (53)
Average goals kicked in 2025: 13.1 (seventh most)
Players with 20-plus goals for club in 2025: 7 (Logan Morris, Zac Bailey, Cam Rayner, Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Callum Ah Chee, Kai Lohmann)

Or the fact that we dropped the ball when playing the lower ranked teams.

Went looking for the 2026 version of the thread, but doesn't seem to exist yet!

Wanted to share this bit of analysis I did over the past week (and mostly pre-Saints game) on Will Ashcroft.

May be a tad controversial, but I'd still happy to stand behind the arguments. Happy to debate!

Hes also not a first string midfielder unlike the others

Nice article to start a discussion thedaz. Thanks for posting. Overall a fair article. Didn’t mention the knee injury which obviously set him back abit and as NB says, he is not in our first string group. I am pretty happy with his contribution to the teams success so far and liking the idea of, at least, another 250 games as a “very good” midfielder.

Despite the stupid headline, Xander said AI bot not machine, this was interesting. Seems obvious to use LMMs to analyse data in real time and provide analysis and suggestions in real time. Clubs would be negligent not having a virtual coaching assistant, especially as they probably already pay for access to Champion Data.

R2-D2 has to better than Daniel Hoyne or David King at analysing the game surely.

‘Hello, Mr Fagan. It is I, your AI virtual assistant. I have analysed the data so far in this game and recommend that the lions kick goals instead of points to win this game.’

Eventually there will be a world where we have fed all of the Chris Fagan videos on the internet into an AI and the players will put on a virtual headset and an AI fagan will coach us to a flag in 2051.

No doubt Carlton's AI machine will figure out how to help them run out games just in time to play us in a couple of weeks.

AI recommends Carlton tank for pick 1 and trade Same Walsh and his stupid contract.

ChatGPT Briztoon edition.

I think this tweet is spot on.
