It's not as easy to climb the ladder these days. Look at Carlton CFL favors them and they have quality in the team but 30 years since there last flag. GC all them favours and still hasn't played a final. Sydney al the favours in the world good teams and won one in 15 years. People thinking we will rebound quickly are in for a shock.I don't mind if Ooze wants to give Dow a go on the wing. The bloke is on his last chance and there's no doubt he is in good shape and can run so why not ? It's a year for trying all sorts of things.
Just play him in the VFL on the wing for three or four weeks and if he kills it, demands a spot, sure he's earned his way into the side.
I just don't see any football aggression in him and until he finds a real edge to his game and can maintain a very strong run of form he shouldn't be in the seniors.
Ditto Sonsie although he's likely to get a start.
I'd like to see MRJ build a run of form in the VFL also. Play him midfield and get him the fittest he's ever been then he'd be a potential weapon. He's still only 21 and just needs to get used to having the ball in his hands and using his speed to break away. He can't just live on defensive pressure alone. Believe Maurice ! Believe ! Take the step lad...
It won't hurt McAuliffe to do it the hard way. Pretty sure he's been carrying something for a few weeks. His time will come, it's only R1 of a long season.
Very exciting to hear caesar's report about the pure class shown by Lalor in today's match sim. Seeing him up close v WC the kid has an aura about him and loves the physical stuff. Looks a player you can build a team around to me.
After waiting 37 years to sit on top of the pile for a dynasty three flag era, it was worth it. It's worth a bit of pain now to rebuild it with a strong foundation. Watching these kids grow is going to be awesome !

10 years and still haven't won it. Although they are looking ok and maybe the quickest turnaround for a while.Hawks!!

Cant see Hawthorn winning it, I believe other clubs will have them worked out. GWS for me.10 years and still haven't won it. Although they are looking ok and maybe the quickest turnaround for a while.
copping injuries aside..the speed of both hawks and gws will see them provide plenty of highlights this season.Cant see Hawthorn winning it, I believe other clubs will have them worked out. GWS for me.
And they legit wasted 3-4y with clarko too , , lessons learnt there10 years and still haven't won it. Although they are looking ok and maybe the quickest turnaround for a while.
Perhaps but Clarko did win what 3 or 4 premiership's for them so entitled a few extra years. His downfall was older players he got rid some but brought in other's which didn't work hence he was in the same boat as we are in. Mitchell has done an unreal job I would even say the fastest and best rebuild for a very long time. Just wish we has someone similar with guts and know how which sadly we don't have. And they legit wasted 3-4y with clarko too , , lessons learnt there
Like I said before there real downfall they went big in defence where they should had gone the other way 2 big forwards. But I admire how they have progressed and don't mind watching them.Cant see Hawthorn winning it, I believe other clubs will have them worked out. GWS for me.
U missed my point , our new era aligns with when Mitchell took over remains to be seen how quickly we can turn corner , starts nowPerhaps but Clarko did win what 3 or 4 premiership's for them so entitled a few extra years.
