Match Preview – Round 12​

Summary

Super Qooty weekend has come and gone and after a successful weekend where we saw Qooty spread out over 3 days, we see ourselves at the busy end of the season. Round 12 kicks off with a top 8 clash between 2 sides that have somewhat flown under the radar so far, this season. The Roys FFC host the Dragons FFC in a contest that would shape the top 8 with the result.

The home side, the Roys sit in 7th position on the ladder with 5 wins and 6 losses and coming off the last 3 matches with a loss the Roys will be looking to get back on the winners list. Another loss here though could see the Roys drop outside the 8 depending on other results but they’re up against a side who is also on a losing streak.
The Dragons sit in one spot above the Roys with a low percentage of 93.61 starting to become a big issue for the Dragons finals tilt. 4 losses in a row and again, could find themselves outside the top 8 after the weekend, particularly with the low percentage compared to the Roys. Either way, one team is going to stop their losing streak by Sunday evening.

LAST TIME THEY MET

It was Round 1 season 24 when these two sides last faced off. That was 12 weeks ago and plenty has changed since then. Plenty of excitement to begin the season with the Roys on this occasion getting the job done. 50 point winners in a contest that was never in doubt leading basically for the whole day. Barrels finished with 4 goals while nahnah and Klim both kicked 2 to set up the Roys offensively. Azarole was BOG with 29 disposals while captain fitzroybowiedog led from the front with 23 disposals of his own.

The Dragons put up a poor showing in front of their home crowd in round 1. Inaccurate goal kicking could be blamed but they were well beaten all over the field. Spanna_ tried his heart out with 20 disposals while veterans Hate and Hatchy1992 scored when they had the chances kicking 2 goals each.
