Not everyday you can say you kick 16 goals in a match and still lose comfortably. The Bears way too good for us this evening. That's round 1 out of the way, let's dust off the cobwebs and go around again in round 2.

Disappointing start. But it was a highly entertaining match, but we got to try harder boys. We rate ourselves highly, but we gotta show that. I don't care if it's round 1 or round 23. Full effort is required.

Round 1 vs Las Vegas Bears

G'day all, and welcome to the Week One review in Season 26.

Let's just say not an ideal way to start off the campaign in one way, but in others, fantastic.

We were at home this week vs Las Vegas Bears, and it's fair to say I wasn't prepared for what happened next. It was a dead set tsunami of activity. First week match threads are always active, but this was ridiculous. It went apeshit, to use a technical term.

This was actually fantastic to see, as the Bears lead the way in the posting stats. We were solid all last season, and some were saying the Bears were a bit of a worry. Well, not if this week is any indication.

Ably lead by JWS, they went hard. Their rookies kdavva and Barrybran hooked in, and good old Gym4life was frothing at the mouth. That bit was fun, wasn't it okeydoke7?

For us, a really solid team effort. U2tigers lead from the front, as did EJW and okey was in a few stoushes. Great to see the return of ShaunDuggan as well. Sab22 had a strong first outing, and what a pleasure it was to see MKMatty up and about. haydo going to Fullback hasn't stopped him chirping at the oppositon either.

On the field, it was a different story. It would have been nice to get off on the right foot, but it wasn't to be. It was an extraordinary game though.

The first quarter was end to end football. After some Fake Hairy bloke missed from in front, it was returning legend ShaunDuggan that kicked the first major for the Wonders in S26. We all got around him, and things felt right again. You wouldn't read about it, but okeydoke7 goaled soon after. We kicked out to a bit of a lead, and at quarter time, it was Wonders 7.5.47 to Bears 5.5.35.

Again, it was back and forth all through the second quarter, but this time, the Bears had the edge, and at half time had a 15 point lead, Wonders 11.5.71 Bears 13.8.86

It was a high scoring affair, but you'll never believe what happened next.

Basically, we were blown off the park by a very slick Bear outfit. By 3/4 time, the game was over Wonders 15.6.96 Bears 23.11.149

WTF??????????????????

It's not really worth talking about the last quarter, barring to say surely there were some records broken at some point. A seven goal to one final term consigning the Wonders to an 88 point defeat.

Phuc Dat.

Cactus_ had 30 disposals and kicked 2 goals, Sab22 had 29 disposals, took 11 marks and kicked a goal. MKMatty had the pill 33 times and kicked 2 goals, and dogs105 had 23 disposals and 6 tackles.

Special mention goes to PVF, 1 disposal for a point, and haydo having 8 kicked on him by a first gamer. It's tough out there, we're all behind you.

Lets go to the pub and clean out the pipes in preparation for a big second week.
