Stimulus causes reaction = consequence.
Now the common mistake people make, you included, is that they believe the reaction to a stimulus is automatic. It is, indeed, fast. Milliseconds. However it is not automatic. Our mind processes a mountain of information, beliefs, programming, emotions, values, etc etc, in a split second. It arrives at a given reaction, which in turn has consequences.
In your case, it would look something like this...
Bombers (stimulus) causes Anger (reaction) = You embarrass yourself (consequence)
Now... if you can learn to slow down the process between Bombers and Anger, you may arrive at a different reaction, and thus have a more positive consequence.
My suggestion would be some breathing exercises. The 3,4,7 method is particularly effective. However, given your case is rather extreme, I would recommend, a big deep breath in, and hold it for about 45 minutes!
