With Round 1 done and dusted, we now move to the second round of the season. Some teams have begun the season on a high, whilst others are shaking off start of season blues. We see these two teams face off at the home of the Reigning premiers the Demons. Can the reigning premiers make it two in a row? Will the Roys topple the Dees after a close loss to the Rats?

Round 1 Recap:

Demons:

The reigning premiers went into Round 1 against the Royals with a lot of confidence having taken out the Tittybong cup only a week before. They were however stunned by the new look Royals going into half time 23 points down (a margin which was helped by poor goalkicking accuracy by the Royals). They managed to claw their way back into the game in the third quarter and were only two points down at three quarter time. Their class and experience got them over the line by three points. manangatang was the Dees best on the day. Although equalling the Royals ruckman with 12 hit outs, manang was more effective around the ground with 22 disposals and 2 goals. His performance was helped by solid games by Proper Gander (27 disposals, 2 goals) and a 4-goal game from sante.

Roys:

The Roys went into Round 1 wanting to atone for a poor premiership defence in S26. They went into quarter time against the Rats one goal in front, however, they were behind by two goals by half time, being kept in the game by inaccurate kicking. They managed to equal the goals tally of the Rats however went down by 7 points, losing their first game of the season. New recruit JackNah_8 was the Roys best with 26 disposals, 8 marks and a goal. TedDougChris (22 disposals 4 tackles) and 3KZ is Football (21 disposals, 7 marks) were also strong performers.

What happened last time?

Season 26 Round 10

Roys FFC 16.9 (105) wdb Mount Buller Demons 20.8 (128)

Not much could stop the rampaging Demons of S26 and the Roys premiership defence was poor to say the least. The Dees dominated the first half, leading the Roys by 27 points at quarter time and 23 points at half time. The Roys put up a good fight in the third quarter kicking 4 goals to the Dees 2. This wasn’t enough however, as the Dees kicked 5 in the last to the Roys 3 and won by 23 points. Future Grand final legend FinBar19 was best on kicking a bag of 8, ruckman manangatang had a terrific battle with Broken coming out on top with 19 hit outs, 27 disposals and 2 goals. The man with three first names TedDougChris, _Mike_ and ruckman Broken played excellent games for the losers.

ND Predicts: Dees by 12 points

Captains please remember to post your team sheets in the Official Team Sheet thread by 11.59pm Thursday.

The OP is a shambles (or is it just my phone?).

Here’s a better preamble:

Fast Facts

  • Mount Buller Demons' score of 28.19 (187) is the highest score in a Grand Final, surpassing the previous one by 37 points (Season 23 - Baghdad Bombers 23.12 (150)).
  • The Demons' scores of 15.5 (95), 20.11 (131) and 28.19 (187) were the highest scores by a club at half time, three quarter time and full time of a Grand Final.
  • The Demons' winning total contained 47 scoring shots, beating the previous record of 38 set by Seventh Wonders (now West Coast Wonders) in Season 01.
  • The combined score between both clubs of 287 points is the highest cumulative total in a Grand Final, beating the previous mark of 268 points between Fighting Furies and West Coast Wonders in Season 15.
  • 28 goals is the most kicked in a Grand Final, surpassing the Bombers' record of 23 in Season 23.
  • The Demons' winning margin of 87 points is the highest winning margin in a Grand Final, beating the previous highest which was 62 points, ironically held by Fighting Furies.

  • Season 26 is the Demons' second premiership from their fifth Grand Final. It is also the second time that the Demons have won the flag after losing their final home and away match to Dragons FFC.
  • Season 26 was Fighting Furies' 12th Grand Final. This season is the sixth time they've lost an SFA Grand Final. #firsttosix
  • The Demons score of 28.19 (187) is their second highest score of all-time, their highest ever score against Fighting Furies and their highest ever score in a final. This match was the first occasion where Mount Buller has kicked exactly 28 goals at the completion of the match and only the third time they've scored 28 goals or more in an SFA fixture.
  • 28.19 (187) is the highest score Fighting Furies have conceded in a match, beating the 167 points they conceded in Season 05, Round Four and Season 10, Round 11 to Titans and East Side Hawks respectively.
  • 28 goals is the most goals Fighting Furies have conceded in a match in Season 04, Round 13 to BigFooty Bombers (now Baghdad Bombers) and Season 10, Round 11 to East Side Hawks.
  • FinBar19's 11 goals is the most kicked by a player in a Grand Final and equal second most ever in a match.

And to think we were 5 goals down at 3/4 time in the Prelim!

The OP is fine, tags just don’t copy and paste properly for some reason.

To be fair given you’re trading Nickleback lyrics elsewhere I’d say things you enjoy are just a little peculiar.
You're such a stalker Tarks. Gross.

Although, the match thread title says we're still in Season 26. I don't know what to think now.
Have we entered an interdimensional portal? Is there something that Kayo wants us to go back in time and resolve? Who knows?
