Dragons FFC v Coney Island Warriors
at Ljp86's Lair
(MOTR)

In this week's Match of the Round, the 5th placed Dragons FFC host the 6th placed Coney Island Warriors, as both clubs look to break into the top four to secure a second chance come finals time. The Dragons are coming off a convincing 31 point win against the Hawks on their home deck, and will be looking to improve their winning streak to 5 in a row, as they look to be peaking at just the right time. Sporting the 2nd most stingy defence in the competition, the Dragons will be looking for a tough, dour contest against the unpredictable Warriors.

The Warriors are coming off a controversial last gasp away win against the Bombers, led by co-vice captains harry000 and pantskyle in their first match at the helm for the Warriors, and will be looking to make it two in a row as they seek to find winning form at the right time after a middling season coming off a prelim in S27. First year skipper TheInjuryFactory returns after a one match ban, set to tackle fellow first year captain AceAndy as both men look to lead their clubs to finals campaigns in their first season at the helm. The Warriors possess the #1 ruck division in the comp and build their game plan around this, they'll be hoping to give their All-SFA mids first use as they look to leapfrog their hosts on the ladder.

AceAndy v pantskyle

Dragons skipper AceAndy is enjoying yet another quality season in the engine room, as he looks to consolidate on an outstanding rookie season that saw him romp home in the EKA, and narrowly miss out on All-SFA selection. 17th in comp for disposals averaging 20.6 per game, his physicality has gone up another notch, as he sits 2nd in comp for frees against with 1.6 per game as he seeks to bring more discipline to his game.

He'll be going head to head with Warriors vice captain and S27 Mobbs runner up pantskyle who's battled with consistency this season coming off a vice captaincy berth in the All-SFA side. Having co-captained the club to a win last week, pants is averaging 75.5 DT points per game this season, sitting 4th in tackles with 6.1 per game and 2nd in comp for frees for 3.9 per game, meaning he's first to the ball and when he's not, he's locking it in for repeat stoppages.

The all time games played leader of the competition, Ljp86 has been outspoken in recent weeks as he made his presence felt off the field, weighing in on the recent admin/committee controversy, and has had a busy few weeks managing the SFA ladder as a result. On the field, the one club player, a Dragons and league legend, is turning back the clock in S28, having made the shift to Full Forward in Round 8 this season for a new look Dragons outfit. With 12 goals since the shift, he'll be looking to hit the scoreboard against the Warriors.

He'll be taking on the namesake of the award he has won multiple times, Coney Island Full Back Frankston Rover, the ex Warriors skipper and former admin, who will be looking to keep his old mate goalless as they line up on each other this weekend. FR has made a tentative return in recent weeks, and will be looking to shore up a leaky Coney Island defence heading into finals.

Rookie Dragons ruckman The Kingslayer is enjoying a strong debut season, following in the footsteps of skipper AceAndy. Currently sitting 5th overall for hitouts with 10.8 per game, he has impressed in his first season of qooty and sits in the upper echelon of SFA ruckmen in S28.

He takes on arguably the number one ruck in the comp, as comewhatmay is enjoying a breakout season on the qooty field in Season 28, after moving into the middle. She's currently sitting 2nd overall for hitouts with 13.8 per game, and 7th overall for DT points in the como, with 84.0 per game. The Warriors ruck division is ranked number one in the comp, and cmw has been giving silver service to a classy midfield unit.
