Official Match Thread Season 31 Round 5: Coney Island Warriors vs Gumbies FFC at Van Cortlandt Park

Guess it’s all about your palate - I bloody love sour things so the current crop of fruit/sour beers are right up my alley. Plus I tend to stick with the Aussie independent brewers and that’s about 80% craft stuff.

Hot tip for you - Boatrocker Brewery. Their sours are *chef’s kiss*

With beers I go for big IPA’s, imperial stouts, barleywines, sours and wheat beers.

And all of the other types.
I'm this minus the wheat beers. Few NEIPAs in there.

First beer I enjoyed was Redback from the Sail and Anchor back in the day.

Tooheys Old was my gateway beer when I was a poor uni student and their longnecks were cheap as chips.

Good man.

I can understand not wanting to smash sours all night.

I just can't go back to lagers etc..

Have been loving lagers of late. Some are tripe I’ll grant you that - particularly the big label ones. Young Henrys’ lager is fantastic though.

I remember having that at the Matilda Bay bar at Southbound back in the day.

For me, maybe grand final day I'll have them if having a big sesh otherwise just find better options. Like a good pacific ale usually does the job better too.

I’ll keep it in mind

My gateway beer was Emu Bitter at the Murdoch Uni social club.
