AFLW Season 7 Grand Final v Brisbane, @Springfield, Sunday 27 Nov

So it all comes down to this.
Brisbane the only team to beat us this year, up there on their new deck.
I'd say we're definitely the underdogs but I am buoyed by how well we've fought back in both finals from s**t positions. Ideally we don't give them a headstart though.
Hopefully Harris' shoulder is right and we can kick straight. We'll need to take every chance to really pressure Brisbane.
Should be a great game, definitely the two best sides in the comp this year.

Going three goals up last time we played them (with Harris replaced by a first game FF who didn't get near it) shows we're around the same level. Hopefully lessons learnt from going missing for the rest of the game.

I'm also heartened by that game. We definitely had a good share of the play but couldn't make it count. Let some soft goals out the back too that hopefully we stop with some desperate #demonspirit in defence for a GF.
Farquharson might be out for them, from memory she troubled us (with Hodder) with her pace

We'll have Harris and Goldrick this time around. We appear to have learned a lot from the Brisbane Round 4 loss and implemented improvements over the course of the season to finish strongly. We may be underdogs with the pundits but we can certainly win this. Go Dees.

Start is key. We've started slowly both finals. If we do that again against the Lions it's game over. Have to hold our own early. We seem to be able to run out games ok, so if we're within a goal or two in the 3rd quarter we're a shot.

IF this is ground has barely had a game on it with fresh turf does this mean Brisbane haven't played there either. Or have they renovated the existing training base?

IF so it means there is little home ground advantage for this one. It's worrying for both teams that the ground looks like it has been rushed. Fearing an injury out there for sure.

The Lions have been using the new training facility (Gym etc) since 1st Nov 2022
The facilities are all new so not an existing training base
Hopefully there are no injuries to either team as the media will blame the ground surface. The turf is in excellent condition and safe

The Lions had their first light run on the ground early in the week and had another training session last night
I would imagine your ladies will get a run on the ground sometime Saturday assuming they are arriving a day early
So, no home ground advantage to Lions as such, apart from not having to travel, which of course is an advantage

It is predicted to be a hot day around 35 degrees

Expecting a good contest but it would be nice if the weather forecast is wrong, and the temperature drops to around 30 degrees which is hot enough

For anyone wondering about the oval size of Brighton Homes Arena (bottom of chart) it is the same as Marvel
