Season Fixture: Play each other once, then 5 rounds of AFLX?

Can AFLX provide a way for the AFL to play a season of AFL where everyone plays each other once?

The reason against this has always been that they would lose too much money, but maybe with AFLX this is no longer the case, and we can have 17 rounds of AFL, and then 5 rounds of AFLX.

So the 17 games will obviously be reversed each season for the home and away matches which makes it even.

I'd be able to accept it better if it was actually even and the GFC actually were allowed all their home games at our home & finals there too.

None of those is a form of AFL, whereas AFL-X is a form of AFL.

I want a situation in which there are 3 sets of goalsposts, 3 teams, and 2 footballs. All games would be played on the MCG, and each side field 14 players.
At half time, there's a random "jumper swap" between players.

I'd call AFL Something Hot In Town.

Not sold on the name, maybe an acronym would work better?
