MRP has it's own indoor event space as far as I know.also cheaper, no event venue hire with all the degustation plates
literally no excuses.

I'd have gone with "the power of Christ compels you", really fire the boys upMini coming on stage now. This outta be good.
cant say the "power of love and friendship" speech really inspired confidence in me that we'll turn it around.

Suspect it was held outside so they could unveil the naming of the training hall after Trevor Nisbett. That would also explain why is was held at night rather than the breakfast launch they’ve traditionally done
No problem with that, nor with the hall being named after Nisbett. His tenure didn’t end on a positive note and he arguably outstayed his welcome, but it’s indisputable he was a major contributor to our rise to a powerhouse on and off field.
Not sure where they got the MC from but they might want to go back to the Gossage/Daniels well next time
McQualter and Duggan both spoke well enough but ultimately they’ll be judged by what’s produced on the playing field week in, week out and not by what they’ve said tonight
Probably could’ve opened it up to a few more supporters because the relatively meagre crowd in attendance struggled to fill out such a vast space and made it look as if they couldn’t get anyone there
Anyway, All the Way West in 2026

I was there tonight. You are spot on with the crowd, a bunch of corporate CEO’s and their staff team. Spoke to a few corp guys who don’t even watch the footy and were there for free drinks and food. They honestly could have used some food trucks. They had caterers going around with food platters, but the food was average. Was good to see all the players in person but a lot looked very disinterested and just hung around on the sides in their own groups. Don’t really blame them. McQualter and Duggan spoke well but the rest of the night was very average, not much excitement at all going around.Agreed on this
If you're going to have it outside on a Thursday night open up the whole ground to supporters, let families bring their kids and kick the footy around, get some food trucks/catering in, make it a ticketed event and make it a bit of a vibe
Good opportunity to get a bit of excitement for the upcoming season, let the members mingle and maybe get the players involved
Can think of lots of ways to make the most of the format beyond doing the normal corporate gig
So I notice they've skipped the Fan Day this year...
Pretty poor form.
And there's no expectations on us, so even if we get belted the weekend prior, nobody will give a shit.Fan Day is on April 8 - during school holidays and away from the heat of summer which has caused issues in the past
Why is this club so cringe? "All the way west" is what they're running with this year.
Barely anyone is engaging with these kind of posts or gives a fk.
It's bad enough we have our coaching staff wearing fishing shirts to training.
