Yes, apparently we were copping a bit of flack from them regarding our run of pathetic losses!
They were dancing on our graves with some spirit and relish.
But I see now post Cats, a more sombre mood prevails yonder in Purple town?
It was kind of amusing after club legend and journo Hazelby announced to the cameras that this was the statement
game that Freo needed to make and he was sure they would?

WTF? Geelong are sitting top-of-the-table and Freo have had a couple of easy kills + teams around them falling over. They were never going to push the Cats.

Their "statement game" will be the Derby I would think.

Yes, they needed to claim a top 8 scalp to be legit contenders. Hazleby claimed Cats had a couple of key outs, so now was the time? I actually watched the 1st Qtr to see if I was missing something re Freo, but no, all is normal down at Purple Town! ...all the usual melts "why do I get my heart broken every time I think we've turned a corner"...delicious. (but in fairness, sitting 7/8th, a big improvement with Longmuir)
Agree, they will be chomping at the bit to whack us at Optus, now is their chance!
But the Eagles also rise for this occasion, here's hoping for a return to form against Crows, inspired by Connor West! (not too much pressure on him)
