IF anyone is calling for CC's head then you are no supporter of this football club. We have won 5 in a row and had one shocker against a bloody good side.
Made to look even better by a sub standard performance by a sub standard side with a sub standard game plan and too many sub standard players most of whom wouldn't get a game with the Eagles.

The result shows where we at against powerful midfields. We are in a group of sides 4-5 that are fighting to make up the No's in the finals ie possey 7 & 8.

It has to be between the ears. Connolly said in his after match that the focuss all week was on the first 10mins of the game. to make a statement.

Not to let their midfield get way. They did, then it was a case of trying to plug the holes in the dam wall.Impossible too many leaks.

The saints have a powerful midfield and many many forward options.
The Dockers can win but if they give the saints a sniff early it will be all over red rover.

The losses against the Hawks and Kangas will come back if not already and bite us on the bum.

Connolly needs to keep working with youngster like Peake and crowley in the midfield because they have pace.

Yep. Dead set right.

Freo has zero pace and once WC got the ball last night we just couldn't catch them.

You look at the midfield Sheedy is building at the bombers (Lovett, Winderlich, and a few others I can't remember) and its about pace. Look at the Bullies turn it on now too.

Watch for Freo to trade for a tallish pacey midfielder and since Polly was dropped last night and has fallen in favourtism he might be the bait (I'm not saying we should do this BTW).

And the seasons not over.... please get a grip!

Last ngihts result was no surprise, our list isn't good enough to beat the best teams in the competition. Stkilda WCE and Port were always going to be tough, losing to teams like hawthorn at home really hurt our season.
We will lose to st kilda, but i think we are a chance to beat Port even at AAMI. This will mean we will probably miss out on the finals by 1 game.

I agree. It may come down to round 22 to determine 7th & 8th spots. Our game should be a ripper but I do fancy port, at home with williams desparate to make another finals appearance.

That's not true. Most of our backline and forward line would get a game with them.

But that's not much good to us when our midfield (bar 2) is full of soft, slow gutless wonders not willing to put their body on the line for the team.

Talent aint much good if you're out there playing for yourself.

I am really not looking forward to next week, with our Friday night record and the way the saints are playing we will get smashed by more than 10 goals.

I did jump the gun abit, our season isn't over in theory but i think it is if i am being honest. In some regards in comes down to the bulldogs. The if the dogs lose 1 of their last 3 then 11 wins will make it. It could very well come down to percentage.

I can understand the anger of a lot of supporters. Just when it looks like we have turned the corner we get a kick in the guts. It happens every time, and last night was embarrassing.

People need someone to blame, Connolly picks the side, prepares the side and compiled our list. If we continually play terrible footy on the big stage and in big games somethings wrong and questions need to be asked. Either our players aren't motivated or aren't up to it. I don't think it's the latter so CC will continue to be criticised when our performance isn't up to par.

The effort from many Freo players would have made it hard for them to look Peter Bell in the eye after the game. He backed into a pack, was cleaned up, then didn't flinch when required to do the same thing 2 or 3 times later in the match. It looked like some of our players realised west coast have too much running ability and couldn't be bothered, until the final quarter when the other mob had nothing left and they decided they better get some easy possessions to keep their spot for next week. Medhurst played for free kicks every time the ball was in his vacinity and will be lucky to get a game next week.

I'm not sure what part of last night was the worst- our midfield, the umpiring or the performance of CC and Co. The only positive is that the rain stayed away. Hopefully we can beat the saints next week and keep our season alive. If someone had said before the season that we would be 10-10 after 20 games I would have been very disappointed. We need to make the finals or it will be a very long summer for the club, the players and the supporters.

Thanks for the last five weeks CC and Team.

Following a sporting team is about the most stupid thing any one could do.

We are suppose to be intelligent people ! Yet last night, this morning and all bloody day walking around in a fog all because my footy team lost. :D

Just goes to show the previous five weeks were a real pleasure looking forward to more wins.

Starting next Friday. woooohoooo.

The longer a teams goes without losing means it is getting closer to a loss.

The saints have won 7 in arow have a short week- 6 days and must fly over to subi to play. The Dockers got flogged by the Slime.

All this said the dockers get the saints at the best time if there is any complacency we'll expose it.

This a test for all at FFC, we all look on with anticipation.
