Do you enjoy basking in the reflected glory of your football club? Do you enjoying writing reference laced prose that is meaningless to anyone not part of a small clique? Do you work out 45 mins per day and eat Subway?
As the Italian poet and author Dante Alighieri once said, “A mighty flame follows a tiny spark”. I’ve always taken that to be good arson advice, but for the pedants who claim he was speaking metaphorically there comes a good lesson- A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Which is a different metaphor entirely. Or is that an allegory? The point being, the match previews in 2015 were straight fire. You can look at those here.
In a world where we could sit and enjoy the fruits of our labour, we might have done enough. Sadly, everyone starts season 2016 from scratch, so despite all the great work last year we’ll have to do the same. Although this time around I’d like more flowery prose and heroic couplets and fewer pictures of Matt Priddis.
- Use this thread to sign up for any match you'd like to preview in the upcoming season. First in, best dressed, so if you want a specific match try and get in early.
- There is no criteria to sign up, you don't have to have been a poster for a long time or have made a lot of posts, but just make sure you're in a position to write one when it's your week. If you can't do it when the time comes, let me, one of the friendly mods (FiveStrings swannies larrikin) know and they will probably sort out a suitable punishment and/or replacement.
- Have fun with the preview. Make it interesting, it doesn't have to be written under a certain guideline or include x,y,z- write it the way you want, use pictures, videos, whatever.
- There will be no prizes. Unless we win the Grand Final. Finals previews will be figured out if we make it that far..
