ESPN's Brady Henderson believes it "seems likely" the Seahawks will release mid-season trade acquisition Carlos Dunlap.
It "seems likely" because cutting the soon-to-be 32-year-old would clear $14.037 million in cap space while leaving behind no dead money. Dunlap helped energize the Seahawks' previously woebegone defense following his October arrival, but there is no way they can pay that price in a year where the salary cap is falling. It is quite possible Dunlap is brought back on a more affordable deal.

The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar, Mike Sando and Jayson Jenks report Russell Wilson's camp has broached trade destinations with Seattle to the Dolphins, Jets, Saints and Raiders.
The report also notes that "some people around the league" believe a trade will happen, if not this offseason then sometime in the "near future," and that those close to Wilson feel as though the pillars upon which coach Pete Carroll built his program — namely competition and accountability — are applied selectively, especially as it pertains to himself and his sons. If that truly is the case, Wilson would knowingly waive his no-trade clause to join one of the four teams listed above if only to escape Carroll's reign, which runs through the 2025 season after the organization gifted the 69-year-old an extension late last year. It's still possible this relationship is repaired, but the two sides continue to grow farther apart with every passing day.

Carolina Panthers. Zach Wilson.
Will be amazed if he's traded considering the teams he named don't have a pick good enough to get a quality young replacement in the draft.

Cowboys tagging and trading Dak probably the only one that makes any sense.

The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar said Will Dissly "may be in position to hold the top spot" on the Seahawks' depth chart in 2021.
It's an unpleasant reminder that Gerald Everett probably didn't become the team's primary pass catching tight end when he signed with Seattle last week. Dugar said Everett, who reunites with former Rams coach and new Seattle offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, "would at worst be the No. 2 tight end behind Dissly to start the season." Waldron praised Everett's pass catching in an interview shortly after Everett signed with the Hawks. "He's got aggressive hands, and he can seem to always find a way to get open versus tight man-to-man coverage," Waldron said, calling Everett's after-the-catch ability "a big asset" to Seattle's offense. Dissly in 2019 emerged as the team's No. 1 tight end, catching 23 of 27 targets for 263 yards and four touchdowns before tearing his Achilles in Week 6. Everett seems unlikely to have the pass-catching role all to himself in 2021.

Seahawks declined RB Rashaad Penny's fifth-year team option for 2022.
Widely first guessed as a 2018 first-round pick, Penny flashed some big-play juice in 2018-19 before suffering a devastating knee injury. He was active for only three games in 2020 and is already 25 years old. Just 17 of Penny's 178 career touches are receptions. He will get one last chance at establishing himself as a dynamic change-of-pace back in 2021 before reaching free agency.

What a first round flop he's been up until now, RBs in the first round should be safe as houses to give a team some form of production.
