I heard there is now going to be a division for clubs that can field two teams such as keilor, strathmore not sure who else i heard. Anyone here have any information regarding this division, and the way it is going to work?

It is very basic and goes something like this.
the edfl require 4 teams to compete in this division (c grade) .i am not sure which clubs ,but someone out there should know
it should an absoloute fantastic :eek: comp.

i really think that it will help clubs like Glenroy,Marby, keilor Park and East Keilor (who are struggling to feild teams) .
once again well done edfl or should i say the clubs that run you (you know who are)for this great initiative:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

you are obviously from one of the "struggling" clubs you mentioned.

the simple fact is, kids want to play with there mates, and the big clubs attract the most kids, its been tried for years and fails every time, you cant force kids to play for these other clubs that struggle for numbers every year. they simply just stop playing, at least now there still in the system and getting a game.

take your negativity off somewhere else.

Agree 100%.
Facts -
1 - Glenroy President less than 1 week ago comitted to fielding a side in the A grade competition. My mail is he now only has 5 players if that.
2 - How many calls to other clubs did the Keilor Park people make. Heard they threw the towel in back in December.
3 - Yet people get on here bagging the clubs that are breaking there necks to get their young men a game of footy.
The negative clubs will always find some excuse.

How is this comp shaping up, havn't heard much about it ?

This has been a fantastic competition for the four clubs that had the balls to stay focused on getting their blokes a game of football for the club they love. Sure numbers were tight early in the season but persistence has paid off & each club will be stronger in the future. I am sure my comments will be supported with a definite increase in teams next season. Great work by the EDFL.

GRAND FINAL 7 AUGUST 8.15PM KEILOR RECREATION RESERVE

Strathmore will go in as favorites & so they should. They have been the benchmark of this competition all year.
Good thinking by the EDFL to run a night final, hopefully get a bit of interest.

Good match with an upset win to Keilor. Congratulations to the league for going ahead with the concept & a night grand final.

Given all the negative comments going around about the smarts of having this competition, I paid a visit to Keilor and was amazed at the size of the crowd. At first I thought it was the crowd from the U12 Grand Final but come half time everyone wass still there. The EDFL & Keilor must have rubbed their hands together big time.
Great result for all clubs involved especially to Keilor for snatching victory.
I wonder how many knockers got to see the game? And I wonder about those clubs that just could not be bothered getting involved in the competition, if they got down to see the final.
No doubt the answer to both questions is negative. No wonder the league struggles to go forward.

what do you mean teams that couldnt be bothered to get involved??/ You need a lot of numbers to get two sides especially in under 18's and if you see who participated they are the big clubs minus Hadfield whcih is a bloody good effort to give two teams.
You need at least 50 players and then you are not counting on injuries during the year. This year abers used 37 players in one side and from round 2 only left out players in about 4 weeks throughout the year.
I am sure Douttas would have no chance West Coburg havent had many players according to there coach. So you tell me who else could have participated you moron....
Well done to the boys that won but who really cares bar the people that played in it. Not like the club will remember the premiership in years to come

My coment is based on clubs actually commenting that they should have been more active. Don't shoot messenger.
Greenvale has to be congratulated for sticking with the competition even when they found they were going to be short on numbers. Without them the competition would have fallen over.
I am sure if you spoke to any of the 4 clubs they would agree that the competition was a huge success for their respective clubs.
The word I have is that there will be at least 8 clubs involved next season, if this is the case then all my comments will be validated. Let's wait for 2010.
