Know some serious people on the Collingwood board. It would appear all your thoughts on who to trade and de-list is so far off the target its embarrassing. You guys don't know, and just don't get it.

I doubt you know anyone on the board, I doubt the board will have much input on the list and I doubt a lot of the decisions have been made. I don’t doubt I will disagree with some of them. I doubt I will be embarrassed.

The current list is not going to win a flag and I don't want us to make the finals just to make up the numbers I would like to see us as a serious contender. We need to give up players to gain players we require to take us to the next step.Robert Walls reported on the radio Monday night that Tarrant and Rocca had played 13 finals between them and kicked 20 goals, they are just too inconsistent in the big games.I would like to see if there would be any takers for either of them.I know some may think I am being too harsh but for too long we have shrugged our shoulders and said next year, well I would like to see MM get tough and make the hard decisions.

i dunno whats going on with michael gardiner but this is what thin we should do. We should trade Tarrant first off. For Tarrant we can get Gardiner. If we do this we can have Josh Fraser and Michael Gardiner switching as forwards because we all know that both Michael Gardiner and Josh can kick goals. This will help Josh with his fatigue of having to be at every ruck contest and enable him to play more of a natural game. Michael Gardiner is a tap ruckman so we dont expect many posessions by him but this is what we need.

Nothing against that assessment as such but they are all easy conventional wisdom calls. That is what we have done year after year. It isn’t enough. We exit 7 or 8, promote a rookie or two, take 5 kids only 2 of which are with picks early enough to carry any real expectations and then search for a PSD or trade to bring in a list filler or two.

We either make calls on the middle of the list with players like Lockyer, O’Bree, Lonie, R. Shaw, Davis etc or we continue down the same dead end. The fact is our list is not good enough and it won’t get good enough by the same course as previously.

Completely agree. We need a total overhaul with the view to be contending for a flag in 2009/10. We are just treading water and it looks like we don't have a plan at all. We are just filling in the gaps when we get guys like Morrison, Caracella etc.

I would trade Lonie, Lockyer, Davis and a few others. My plan would be to have some good picks over the next two drafts and then get a team of young players coming through at the same. We have a good nucleus with Cloke, Thomas, Pendles etc.

I'm speechless. Words cannot describe the sheer stupidity......UGH! I feel like Frank Grimes.

You're contradicting yourself big time. First you say Brayden wasnt good enough, then you say Yakka is good enough, then you say Brayden had a bad attitude, then you say Yakka has a great attitude and more drive. And yet you see a lot of similarities between Brayden Shaw's situation and Adam Iaccabucci's, then you proceed to provide examples of why your theory is totally wrong!!!!

IMO Yakka is an issue to discuss at the end of 2007.
I am saying that I rate Yakka and wouldn't delist him. However the club, who sacked B.Shaw for not showing enough strengths (he wasn't a good enough "extractor" or link man but didn't have great skills or speed). The club may think Yakka hasn't shown what role he can fill at AFL level yet and may delist him.

WHATS HAPPENING WITH?

Ryan Cook (???)

So very wrong. Cook is a player that was picked up after 1 year of TAC Cup. If he didn't get drafted he'd still be there and would be expected to get drafted top 20 IMO. He will get at least 2 years on the list, but probably 3 and if nothing is shown then he will be gone.

What's with the Wisbey bashing?

Is that you DL??

Yakka may not make it, but he's streets ahead of Shak! For one, he can kick straight. He is also fit!
Wiseby is overrated, cant believe some take his word as gospel and refuse to hear a negative word about him

Just wonder if during the year he finally watched Murphy play as his pre draft profile indicated he had never seen him in action, would be interesting to see an update now

I do not rate Wisbey's "rankings" but his profiles are usually spot on. He didn't rate Pendlebury and Thomas too high in his rankings but his profiles were spot on describing the way they play. He is the best in that field.
Agree jabso.
I think his profiles are great, but that doesn't necessarily mean I come to the same conclusion as he does to their draft position.

i think you have to put a number to the amount of people a club will want to delist given the standard of the draft etc. i.e. this year is supposedly going to be a handy draft compared to other years hence, maybe it is a good time to axe/trade a number of players.

the pies will not be competative come next september imo. i think it might be time to make up for the hatchet job noel judkins did on the pies recruiting in the early 2000s.

if it was up to me i would be looking to trade mature players for younger players or picks. and delist the experiments and trades gone wrong.

retire:
morrison
cara

Delist:
Fanning
Hall
Walker

trade but not sack( must be for right price):
players who are expendable for the right price, i think a few of these may have to leave the club before the pies get a good crack at a premiership again.
jono
holland
shaw r
lonie
lokyer
j cloke
obree
rowe: i think he is good for one more year, he should be close to his peak this year, if he cant make it then he will need to be traded or delisted at any price to make way for someone else to get their chance.

tarrant under the extreme circumstances i.e. 1st round pick and an established player. only reason he is here is become some clubs may chase him.

on their last legs:
rowe
richards
c cloke--> if he is injury free next year and does not preform it might be time for his head to roll. (cant sack too many ruckmen at once)

not sure where they stand:

wakelin--> i think if he goes(retires) we might keep jclo for 1 more year.
yakka--> young midfielders coming through all of which will be better players pendles, davies, dasiy, swan, shaw, didak to spend a bit more time there. however has shown some signs, cant see him going this year...id get rid of rowe before him.
