Tomorrow, yes.

But in about five billion years the sun will expand, become a white dwarf, and destroy the Earth.

Just as Collingwood reaches its next premiership window...
And Nathan Buckley jnrjnr jnr x 5 million juniors will be to blame

Mateyman, seems like the sequence is Red Giant expands and scorches Earth making it uninhabitable, then when it contracts to White Dwarf, it shreds Earth (good bedtime story for the kids).

Read this recently...

Writing in the journal, Nature, Vanderburg describes the results as the first evidence for rocky, disintegrating bodies around a white dwarf...

“We now have a smoking gun linking white dwarf pollution to the destruction of rocky planets,” Vanderburg said. (Andrew Vanderburg is at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.)

Right, so our next premiership window is between the earth being scorched and made uninhabitable and earth being shredded?

TRS was on the money. It has become so boring on here that you could easily take the week off, come back at game time and nothing would have changed. Literally every thread is disussing the same topic and having the same circular arguments. It's not just here either. Every media outlet is pumping out carbon copies of the same story with each journo trying to insert their own little headline grabbing twist. I am finding myself hanging for the actual game to be played not so much from a win or lose perspective, but just as a break from the monotony. The saddest thing is that now I'm finding myself disappointed when I see a new Collingwood article. Not because they're bound to contain bad news about the club. That used to at least invoke some sort of emotions in me, but because their all well...boring.

I think its because we have all realized it is not just a small tweak or minor adjustment necessary, we are up shit creek without a paddle. :(

I think you may have unwittingly cemented my point. Your "up shit creek" comment while it may be factual, is the same comment said in different forms over and over in every thread, every news article, every medium. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying I have heard it, read it, watched it and now I'm bored of it.

It's probably an old fashioned comparison, but you know when you like a certain song, then radio picks it up and hammers it to the point that you no longer want hear it again? That's kind of where I am at.

Totally agree Jasper. I've gotten to the point where I don't read half of the threads anymore. The same garbage over and over ad nauseam. Call me crazy but for whatever reason I still prefer to be optimistic. My expectations are clearly not as high as some but then that keeps me sane. Don't get me wrong, I'm as deflated by our performances as anyone but hopefully I'm at least able to put them into perspective. The reality is that I had very little expectation that we would be a contender this year anyway and so the only thing that has happened is that my usual early season optimism has been readjusted back to where it was at the end of last year. In the meanwhile I have gone back to what I did when we were going well and just prognosticating privately about where individual players can get to. It takes some focus off where we are as a club right now and gives me plenty of hope for the future. We will never be down for long. Of that I am sure!

I agree but what does make it easier for me is that I'm a lover of football in general and good football. If you look outside of Collingwood this year there is enough good football being played for me to enjoy the year. I'm really loving the way GWS are going about their footy, I love seeing Heath Shaw in career best form, Scully really coming on after being criticised early in his career, Stevie J kicking goals and a young team really doing something right. Adelaide, Geelong, North Melbourne, Sydney and the Doggies have been just great to watch.

I read very few media articles on Collingwood. Why bother as they all have the same undertone. Everyone loves it when we are down and the media love getting that message out there.

You don't have to enjoy Collingwood to enjoy football.
