Seedsman gone?

[GWS]Well there are multiple clubs after Seedsman, so even though he's nominated Adelaide and won't agree to go elsewhere, we'll shop around for the best offer for us.[/GWS]

[Brisbane]**** you Seedsman, you can stay here or play for Carlton![/Brisbane]

[Essendon]Pick 5 or you're not getting him![/Essendon]

[Geelong]What are you talking about, the paperwork was already lodged last week?[/Geelong]

Ripper post!!

FWIW Pies fans, imagine when Gunston (who had a load of clubs chasing him) nominated Hawthorn. Who literally had the least of any club in terms of what they could offer us :drunk:

I would be very disappointed if only 32.
Suspect offer from GC would have been better than that.
If Yarran gets valued at effectively 17 or so then 32 is a poor return

Really? I reckon 32 is closer to overs than unders.

Could have got too 20 if the last game of the year was Anzac Day but 32 is probably about right

The best i can think of is to try and get adelaides pick 13 in a package deal.

I know the saints are keen to offload their pick 5 for adelaides picks 9 and 13 so they can get the carlisle deal done.

Maybe if we package up freeman to the saints and seedsman plus second rounder to adelaide, then we can get pick 13.

I need to think it over, but

adelaide would get pick 5, seedsman, 2nd rounder

Pies get pick 13

Saints get carlisle and freeman

Bombers get pick 9

As a lifelong Pies man it would have been nice to see Seedsman choose Gold Coast given their abundance of top 20 picks - would have been a nice parting gift for us.

But oh no, it was all me, me, me!

Yeah I am thinking 32 is unders but to be fair thought GC at 22 was overs. I think his value is a bit higher bc a number of clubs wanted him and he was seemingly happy with a few of them. I cant remember to many players who have been that heavily courted and whose value was 30-40. Also I think people are aware it is an ordinary draft so a pick starting with a 2 I am happy with.

I suspect the club are trying to figure out how to get to 13 and what plus Seedsman needs to be offered to get it. But if I was Crows I would be telling Collingwood 'no' unless you make it super attractive. The only thing that may help us is there were clearly a number of clubs after him.

Only way we're getting to 13 is if we throw in 25 (or whatever it is we have) at a minimum along with Seedsman. Maybe even one of the other 20s we might be getting.

Thats what I was thinking.....sorry if unclear.

My view would be Seedsman and say 26 (our 2nd round) for 13. We then on trade 13 for Aish. Howe would come for Kennedy and #44.

Would still have 24 (from Saints for Freeman), 27 (from GWS as part of Treloar). Would probably then use the #60 as our last one and go with a list of 38. Also means Oxley stays.

To be honest if we did get 13 I would rather keep it and give Lions Oxley and # 27. That pick 13 will get us a decent fella.

No one. Just sick of seeing us screw up trades.

Including free agent signings...

Jordan Russell
Clinton Young
Jesse White
Lynch

All since 2012...
To be fair they cost nothing to get and cheap to keep while we developed the list through the draft, your list is only half the story

Throw Grundy Adams Varcoe Crisp Broomhead Langdon Greenwood Marsh Moore Maynard Scharenberg in for balance

And get ready to add Treloar Aish and Howe to that list

Has talent but is constantly injured, 32 is more than fair.
Ahhh but if they want to pinch him sounds like they are offering something decent up, this was yesterday and suddenly he's going there today:

It is reported that the Crows might offer the Pies a deal for Seedsman that will see them bolt to the front of the chasing pack.

As expected the Crows threw all their energy into getting Patrick Dangerfield to Geelong, but now that transaction has been dealt with, they've turned their attention to Seedsman.

The 23-year-old would give Adelaide great versatility and some dash off half-back or through the midfield, especially given Dangerfield's departure.

Seedsman has toured the Suns' facilities but it's believed the Crows might be willing to trump them and the Kangaroos to secure his services.

DeGoey;)

And what did we TRADE for them?
Some picks (70 and 40 something) plus list spots and salary cap space. When you operate in a system with restricted list spots and salary cap then there is no such thing as a "free agent". He also forgot Armstrong in that list. Recruiting these speculative and limited older players has just been piss poor strategy by the club given where we were at and what we were trying to do. It has just contributed to keep games off younger developing players and further unsettle the team with the revolving door consequences. This has been terrible recruiting that has been at odds with our overall strategy and direction and has failed miserably and held us back. I'm sick of hearing people defend the club for this sh^T. Some of you obviously can't spell spade let alone call one. Hine is brilliant at picking a late draft winner as we all know.. we should have let him do his thing rather than take a punt on someone like Russell ffs!
