Hird's appeal dismissed and ordered to pay ASADA's costs.
Should be the end of the stalling tactics and we find out the fate of the players.

A few more weeks yet.

What about the AFL's anti-doping hearing?

The anti-doping hearing has been adjourned until February 16. ASADA will file written closing submissions by February 5, the players will file their written closing submissions by February 12 and the AFL will do the same by February 13. While the tribunal will adjourn to consider whether the players breached the AFL's anti-doping code on February 18, there is no time frame for the completion of those deliberations.

What's next for the players?

If the appeal is dismissed, the current and former Essendon players issued with infraction notices will continue to be provisionally suspended from playing until the case is resolved. A final call by the tribunal may not be made until after the NAB Challenge begins, meaning the AFL will need to rule whether the current players – of whom about 20 are still with the club – can play in the club's opening match against St Kilda in Morwell on March 7.

What will the afl do if essendon cant field a team?

There are lots of guys who would love a live, 23 week audition at AFL level.

I wouldn't be against allowing some of our players in a loan system to go there and get AFL experience.

Perhaps they will allow them to top the team up with players from the VFL squad.

That would give the teams they play against a massive advatage in points and in percentage. We only play them once.. will we end up getting shafted by their cheating? I can see it happening.

Hird can still appeal to the High court, I doubt it but I wouldn't put it past him.

Calling Mr Vain
I think the high court has to grant approval for an appeal a non split decision may not be something they believe is worth their time.
