Frank Costanza is the funniest character in the whole show imo; big call, I know.

ESTELLE: Latvian Orthodox? Why are you doing this?
GEORGE: For a woman.
FRANK: A woman? What are you out of your mind?!
ESTELLE: Why can’t you do anything like a normal person?
FRANK: Wait. Is this the group that goes around mutilating squirrels?
GEORGE: No, it’s a regular religion.
FRANK: I’m calling my lawyer. It might not be too late to get out of this.
GEORGE: I don’t want to get out of it.
ESTELLE: But George, you don’t know what you’re saying. You’re under their control.
FRANK: What, they brainwashed you?
GEORGE: No no.
FRANK: You’re not performing any rituals in this house.
ESTELLE: Go back to the psychiatrist. I beg you.
FRANK: And stay away from those squirrels!

****in love the maestro

JERRY: I can't get a sublet, a guest room, a cot, nothing?

MAESTRO: It's booked solid!

ELAINE: It's BOOKED Jerry!

JERRY: How'd you get yours?

MAESTRO: Got lucky. Come on, Elaine, let's take a ride, I was about to pop in some

Verdi.

(Elaine starts to sing in Italian. Maestro and Elaine drive away)

JERRY: Maybe I'll check out France.

(George walks towards Jerry)

JERRY: Hey George, do you believe this guy?

GEORGE: Who?

JERRY: Bob Cobb.

GEORGE: Bob Cobb?

JERRY: You know, the Maestro.

GEORGE: Oh I missed the Maestro?

JERRY: Yeah, get this, he tells me there are no houses any where in Tuscany to rent.

GEORGE: Huh. Your renting a house in Tuscany?

JERRY: No.

GEORGE: So what do you care?

(George walks away leaving Jerry standing there by himself)

ESTELLE: I knew it. I knew it. I always knew you always had beautiful hands. I used to tell people. Frank, didn't I use to talk about his hands?
FRANK: Who the hell did'ya ever mention his hands to?
ESTELLE: I mentioned his hands to plenty of people!
FRANK: You never mentioned them to me!
GEORGE: Hand me an Emory board.
ESTELLE: I always talk about your hands - how they're so soft and milky white.
FRANK: No! You never said milky white!
ESTELLE: I said milky white!
GEORGE: (To Estelle) Scissor. (She gets the scissors from the coffee table and hands them to George) Don't hand them to me with the point facing out!
ESTELLE: I'm sorry.
GEORGE: You're sorry?!
ESTELLE: I'll try to be more careful.
GEORGE: I hope so.
ESTELLE: Georgie.. Georgie, would you like some Jell-O?
FRANK: Why'd you put the bananas in there?!
ESTELLE: George likes the bananas!
FRANK: So let him have bananas on the side!!
GEORGE: Alright! Please, please! I cannot have this constant bickering! Stress is very damaging to the epidermis! Now, I have an important photo session in the morning - my hands have got to be in tip-top shape, so please - keep the television down, and the conversation to a minimum.
ESTELLE: But Georgie.. what about the Jell-O?
GEORGE: I'll take it in my room.

****ing loved the bickering between Frank and Estelle :D

All the scenes with George's parents were gold.

Also The Jacket episode where Jerry and George get stuck in a hotel with Elaine's dad would be up there with the best episodes.

According to this video the guy that played Elaine's dad was just as scary in real life and is the reason he never made any other appearances on the show.

"We had a funny guy with us in Korea, tailgunner, they blew his brains out all over the Pacific. There's nothing funny about that." :D

Greatest comedy of all time. Not just the 90's, but of ALL TIME!!!1

I genuinely lose most, if not all respect, for anyone that says Friends was better. If you like it better, then fair enough, but to genuinely think that its comedy was wittier or more creative, well, that is a strong indication of stupidity.

I actually thought George's Parents were the least entertaining. Cringeworthy, really, not that funny.

There are shows (albeit very few) that it is acceptable to say are better than Seinfeld, but Friends is certainly not one of them.

Arrested Development is better IMO, but they are differnt types of show.

Also a few British shows have got it beat

And The Simpsons glory years is the best show of all time

I remember back in the 90s there was that big rivalry between Seinfeld and Friends as to what was the better show. A lot of people back then were more into Friends than Seinfeld but it's clear now which is the better show. Seinfeld has stood the test of time and is as good now as it was then, it's timeless. Friends is really just another run of the mill sitcom.

I never watched Friends, it was all too sickly sweet for me. Seinfeld had a much darker edge to it, it was the anti-Friends. The motto of Larry David when he wrote it was "no hugging, no learning" which set it apart from other sitcoms. Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably the only other sitcom that gets close to matching it.

I actually thought George's Parents were the least entertaining. Cringeworthy, really, not that funny.

It was the fact they were so cringeworthy that made them funny though. I think most people could relate to George's relationship with his parents and how embarassing they were.
