Do guys think you will finish above the bottom 3-4 because I think you will struggle. How do you think you will finish above there because your side pretty much stinks and at least the other clubs picked up some decent young kids that will/can play. You didn't. Sounds like your still hurting because of Carey.

We didn't finish bottom 4 last year.

Even Hansie Cronje wouldn't put money on us emulating last years dismal performance.

Ok. How and who? Who is going to step up and become a player that didn't last year? Messen won't do anything in 2005.

John Meesen & Van Berlo just to name a couple, will play at some stage this year.

Oh, BTW,
I think you should reserve your bashing of our club until your balls drop Mr.Neutral.

Add them to last years stable few (roo, edwards,Clark etc) and we are looking competitive, far more than you might think ;)

I'm not bashing the club, I like Adelaide. I asked a simply question. I barrack for Geelong then the Dogs then the Crows.

Whilst i do believe the crows will be far more competitive than most vic clubs/supporters believe (especially at home), to me a clubs chances are measured by those players that cant force their way into the side and I just dont think you have the depth across the entire squad to cover injuries and loss of form, two inevitable occurences during every year at every club.

Yes you are absolutely right. As said previously and even before, it will take a few years to get rid of the also rans and recruit some very good young players with talent.

The most exciting group of young players of any list in the AFL.

surely one of these exciting youngsters can step up?

How can you expect to be taken seriously when you can't type the name of a thread properly (Seiously wasn't in the dictionary last time I looked) and you have two comments which conflict each other. "Your side pretty much stinks" and "I'm not bashing the club". What planet do you come from?

Pluto, then Mars, then Earth on his way to Uranus. ;)

Goodwin is probably going to be the major one. We're hoping, anyway.

It's not always about just the players that have been recruited, though. Which is why a team like Melbourne can fluctuate so much from year to year. Ayres was a decent coach overall for us but had become stale in the last couple of years. The players weren't responding to him and last year everyone just seemed to be going through the motions.

There's no doubt a repeat of last year isn't out of the question if we have a bad year, but I find it hard to see how things could get any worse. It was one of those years where 90% of players on the list under-performed, so we don't need a bunch of new players to improve. We just need our experienced players to gain some renewed enthusiasm. A new coach and ideas is one way to inject that.

I'm not expecting a high finish. But I don't think we are likely to finish bottom 4.

You are a joke and are why Adelaide have a bad reputation as ferals. I ask a genuine question and you attack me - you are pathetic.

If I was a Crows fan that statement might have some merit. It might help if you don't start a thread saying your side stinks and expect a proper discussion. I'm not trying to stick up for Crows fans but when people post stuff like that they deserve to be criticised.

It just shows a lack of ticker like your side. I don't deserve to be criticised, The list does stink IM0 and they are my 3rd fav club.

I thought Port won the flag last year. I must have been dreaming along with everyone else in Australia.

Cant believe anyones actually responding to this guy. Leave him here to talk to himself.

No, because if he talks to himself he'll go mad and then we will have another potential Sydney_Eagle/Powerkop nutter to put up with :)

I envy you matey. It must be nice to support clubs like Geelong & the Dogs & know you will never have to mingle with the ferals. :D

Seriously (or seiously) our inarticulate friend here has a point. Our squad isn't the best, & we can't expect new draftees to pick up the slack overnight.

Hopefully home ground advantage, improvement in the 2nd & 3rd tier players and a bit of luck will keep us out of the bottom 4.
